They have plans to remove the track. The stadium would look fine without the track, but as long as it is there, it will definitely be looked at as second rate for an FBS program (and yes App fans, I'm aware we only have 15,000 seats and have upgrades that need to be made too).

I figure it'll be gone in a couple years.

Well, Ohio st had a track until a few years ago.

You are lucky you are getting what you get. This is what it used to look like when Marshall played there. This is even an upgrade really, there was no field turf when Marshall played there:

There was no field turf anywhere when Marshall played there. Under old management. Yeah, the track sucks, but the stadium is a thousand percent better than back in the 1990s.

You all are just jealous because App State needs that area around the football
field for it's receivers to slow down.

Ignorant Marshall fan. There were 5,000 seats on the east side. If you actually attended a game that is where you would have sat.

Today there are two levels on the east side, plenty of restrooms and concessions. Restrooms and concessions in the south endzone and a state of the art 7 story tower on the west side (same as Wake Forest's).

The only thing similar about the place today as the 90's when Marshall was in the SoCon is the loss your team leaves with. 14-8 vs. Marshall.

I'll attest to it as well. App has a great facility for the level. It'll be one of the better facilities in the Sun Belt even with the track. Once the track is gone, it'll only improve.
It could use more men's bathrooms, but I'm an impatient person who doesn't want to miss much game action when I have to get up and mix another drink in the bathroom. (Glad ya'll brought the cups back btw)

Yeah, for twenty years ago when that picture was probably taken. And there was always seating on the other side.
Going to games inebriated doesn't evidently do much for memory.
The more smack we get about the track the more I am in favor of keeping it, instead of replacing it and spending millions to do so.
Tell the Cajun fans they have to back pack in via pack mules, and that we have no restrooms, they are out of order.
