There is no doubt he has tremendous upside, but will it surface this season, or will we have to wait another year? The off season is when players really can improve their skills and hopefully James has been working on those areas of his that need improving. He's been there long enough that he should know Coach Shields system which could give him an advantage over some new players. We need another NBA player in the system. Maybe he'll be the one in another year or two.
Certainly a real possibility.
What did james need to work on?
He had a jumper 10 - 12 foot out
He needs a little weight
Dribbling?
Did he keep up with his man on defense?

His value could be blocking shots, and making put backs around the basket. He hasn't been real skilled in handling the ball, but that could be improved this year if he's been working on it in the off season.
I neglected to say rebounding. I was thinking he had to rebound to put shots back up around the basket. But you're right. Rebounding should be one of his major contributions to the team this season.
He is quick and can jump out of the gym. Just needs to have strong hands and a hard-nosed work ethic.
