I think we have a pretty solid record in FB against UTEP if football - maybe 6-2 all time? That being said my father got his masters at UTEP in the early 70's and I was born in El Paso but we moved before I was 3. Anyone know what our record is against the Miners in FB and BB?

In the WAC, UTEP was 1-3 vs La Tech in FB. In BB, I'm sure the W-L record favors UTEP by a big margin.

I've always liked La Tech and I can't really put my finger onto as to why.

I do admire their tenacity and reasons they did not want to stay or get back into the Sun Belt (or 'Belch as they called it) Conference and still wonder how they escaped the 1-AA black cloud all those years.

We know they have many, many alums in the DFW Metroplex many of whom we will get to know
on a friendly rivalry kind of basis. The CUSA West Division is going to be loads of fun and getting to know
schools (some familiar--others not) in the CUSA East Division will be as fun, too.

i always enjoyed playing UTEP, and we're obviously huge fans of Coach Floyd.

According to an old media guide I found (10-11 season). UTEP leads the basketball series 8-7 overall. During the WAC seasons, UTEP 5-4 (one game you beat us in WAC tourney).

Glad to be back in the same conference with you guys. Going to be some really fun and exciting games very soon.

La Tech in my mind always fields some good bkb and fb teams. Anyway, good enough to give us a good game or beat us. I respect them on the athletic field.

La Tech are a really wonderful add. Once they replace all of those missing seniors from last year they'll get right back to bowling and should be able to push for the C-USA crown.

It's a shame that the La Tech vs. Tulane fixture cannot turn into a rivalry. I guess it makes too much sense...
