I heard it on good authority that the end game is 5 by 14. This is because the number 70 is the best number for P5 schools. Right now, ACC, B1G and SEC are set at 14 each. That leaves the PAC and the BigXII to get to 14. Here is how it should go down.

PAC14
Add BYU and Boise

BigXII
Add Memphis, ECU, Southern Miss and UCF

This will probably happen within the year.
Finally, now I can rest
More likely B12 is Cincy, UCONN, USF & UCF.
I don't know if I should be happy or disgusted that Miko threw ECU's name in his ramblings.

The only way B12 takes Conn and Cinn if Texas and Okla go to the PAC12

Does Boise have the academics to cut it in the PAC 12?

Well, that makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

OK, I'll bite.

Did your source tell you that these were the schools to be included or is this speculation on your part?

What about Cinci, UConn, USF and others?
Doesn't the ACC already have 14.5? (ND). No way UC doesn't make it in the unlikely event the 5 14's happens.
Sounds good, lock the thread, tell the commissioners and let's rock n roll.

You lost all credibility when you mentioned Memphis, ECU, Southern Miss and UCF to the Big 12. They have about as much fan appeal in Texas and Oklahoma as Cincinnati.
The same authority that said Pitt, Syracuse and Boston College were going to the PAC Prom with Notre Dame?

First, welcome to the board! Second, use miko for entertainment purposes only.

No, Boise is not even in the stratosphere to join the PAC in terms of academics. They are not even considered a national university. If the PAC believed in Hell, they would say that BYU will join them when Hell freezes over. BYU believing that their could be a Hell to freeze over in the first place is why they will never be allowed to join the PAC. Been down that road in year's past. Not happening.

Also, expect to see ECU as the next member of the Big 12 and SEC, at least on this board. Yes, I did say the Big 12 AND the SEC. They have too much potential and too rabid a fan base to be contained within one conference. They will start the trend of dual conference membership, I'm sure.

Not so much start as resurrect. Pretty sure Iowa was the first (and last?) dual conference member to date.

The ACC will have 15 1/2 next year with the addition of Louisville.

The ACC will still be at 14.5 we lose MD and add Ville

Also think that Vegas is more attractive than Boise as a whole.
Boise football is coach away from being an after thought.
UNLV could potentially be ok in a few sports
I know we are just joking around and none of this is really going to happen, but if the PAC-12 and Big-12 was forced to go to 14, then I could see them holding their nose and taking a couple of schools based solely on their future potential.

So the logical candidates for the PAC-14 would be
UNLV, New Mexico, Hawaii, BYU or Boise

If they did go with BYU and Boise, the only way that could work is football only invites. No way BYU or Boise get full invites.

If they go with full invites, I could see UNLV and New Mexico getting the nod.

Also if the Big 12 was forced to expand to 14, then I believe they would have to make a choice once and for all, go east or go west. Whichever way they go, it will be a package deal. So lets look at the 2 packages.

East candidates
Cincy, UConn, USF, UCF or Memphis

West candidates
New Mexico, Colorado state, BYU, Boise or SDSU

But neither package quite works. So I could see combo with New Mexico, Cincy, USF getting full invites and BYU getting football only invite. if the Pac-12 takes New mexico or BYU first, then other team would be UCF.
