RIVERSIDE INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY 151 LEGIONS RD, WEST MEMPHIS, AR ANNOUNCES THE FIRST ANNUAL CODY BURKS MEMORIAL 305 SPRINT CAR RACE – SATURDAY, AUGUST 3, 2015; GATES OPEN 5 PM; RACES 7:30 PM (Rain Date: August 17, 2013)


The 38 lap “WIN IT OR WEAR IT” 305 WINGED SPRINT feature will be dedicated to the memory of Cody and his love for the sport and the sportsmanship he showed on and off the track.
Proceeds will go to the CODY BURKS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND which will be given to a 2014 Halls High School graduate for their continuing education.
The Burks family wants to thank Riverside International Speedway and sponsors for all the support for this race. This racetrack holds many special memories for all of us. Cody was at his best when he was here in his race car. He loved to race and everything he did was centered on his dedication to the sport. We are very excited and thankful for this opportunity to honor Cody’s memory and celebrate his life on the race track.

 Sportsmanship Award will be presented to the Riverside Speedway 305 driver who has been voted on by their fellow competitors as possessing the sportsmanship, attitude and determination that best defines Cody’s love of the sport. $500 toward and J&J products at J&J Auto Racing, $300 toward shock service or any Goodridge plumbing products at RE Enterprises, Special custom photo package values at over $100 from Scott Frazier Photography. Drivers will vote when they register and the winner will be announced at intermission.

I knew Cody and his dad Todd well. They had a special race a few weeks back at Atoka for Cody. They don't come any better than Todd and Cody was a fine young man.
