Talk is Lavell Took a job at WMU but then quit 4 hours later is the leading candidate to replace Brad Stevens.

Stevens #1 asst who was just hired in May (coming back for a 2nd tour) is reported to possibly heading to the Celtics.

Looks like Barry Collier wants LaVall LaQuitor.

Skinny

Butler is in a world of hurt. The brand took a huge hit and frankly Steven's was what made the brand work. Butler is not and will not be like what it was. It is stepping up in conference and is in need of even better players. The Horizon and A 10 allowed Stevens to bring his kids along and then make that push late and making a splash.

Sans the brain, down in talent against conference foes, the mojo is no no.

WMU.

With the return of Clayton Bates a re emphasis has been put on Indiana. Nothing wrong with it. But IU and Louisville continue to drain the swamp of talent. Butler was going alot outside of Indy. But with the Butler brand under new guidance will they be as successful outside of Indy or are they going to have to come "home" to find talent? Why was Stevens looking outside of Hoosier Hysteria? By turning back inward will the next HC get the same talent as BS had or are they going to have to revamp the brand?
By going back to Indy with IU and Louisville still getting the best will WMU's top prizes we siphoned up to Butler. Will Hawk revert to taking the first verbal out there (Austin Harper) or will he target BCS types and stay on them with the chance they fall (David Brown)?

It will be interesting how this plays out the next couple years.
