If ROOT's release is correct, Raycom's RSN package will have three more football games compared to last year. '11 & '12 had 14 games over 13 weeks (1 doubleheader both years).
So what is the ACC getting out of this deal?

Having their games shown in Pennsylvania. This is the same package you would see on FOX Sports South, FOX Sports Carolinas, etc.

If you're referring to the extra games that Raycom is receiving (it appears), that money goes to ESPN, who pays its as part of the increased rights fee.
I get the exposure/distribution part. I was more asking about revenue. Will there be any?

Nominal. Its factored into the payment the conference gets from ESPN. ESPN sells these games to Raycom, Raycom looks for RSN buyers. The RSN pays Raycom, who pays ESPN.

I get all of that too. Raycom pays ESPN 50 millon a year for 31 football and 60 basketball games. This deal seems to have additional inventory.
Why would the ACC be getting additional revenue for content it's long since sold?

I don't think that we are.

I think that the point about the indirect revenue was that adding games on regional networks makes more money for ESPN, which would indicate that, all things being equal, the ACC would get more during the next round of negotiations than they would w/o the added games on regional networks, as we would get a cut of the increased payout to ESPN. I don't think that matt was trying to get everyone excited about more money. I think that he mentioned it because it means more publicity, and it means that ACC fans in that area can watch their team more often, which is a big deal if you really like watching your team and you live in that area.
Yeah, the intention wasn't in regards to money. Just that ROOT had announced their deal for the RSN games.

Would have been nice for MSG and YES to announce their NY statewide portion while the conference was in NYC.
My question was directed to the UNC fan that kept asking about the financials.

03-shhhh
I'm not sure this is accurately stated, but this article in the Pittsburgh Trib-Review suggests that the Root Sports deal is "on top of" the ACC's deal with ESPN.
