I would take all three of them again for the Tigers and kill people.
The only correct photo was the one of D Vaughn.
Tough because Lee wasn't awful in the pros. His knees were his undoing.

Actually, Lee was a GREAT pick for the Bulls because they traded Oakely for him. They later flipped Oakley for Bill Cartwright and Will Perdue.

I would also think Pau, not Abdur Rahim, would be the best Grizz pick.
Shiiiit...as for the Magic: players drafted by Orlando higher than Vaughn:

Johnny Taylor (#17) 1997
Jeryl Sasser (#22) 2001
Curtis Borchardt (#18) 2002
Reece Gaines (#15) 2003
not to mention Daniel Orton (played 29 games in the NBA)
It's my understanding that Lee gained some bad weight (weight that wasn't supported well) coming out of college --- and that was his ultimate undoing. (?)
I wonder if Keith is the greatest player ever to have not of excelled in the NBA? because watching him in college was incredible. flat out the best I have ever seen play in college. speaking of Lee, I went to see Austin N. play and I said to the guy sitting next to me..."he reminds me of Keith Lee". this dumb *ss said that Keith Lee was "ok", "he had a good freshman year, after that he wasn't that great" I told him there isn't a player on the floor that could touch Keith Lee and that includes Nichols. I then told him, for the rest of your life, you will never see another player as good as Keith Lee. it just goes to show you there are some people who say and do real dumb things. and then they get to go vote. but that's a different topic. 04-chairshot

...or they post on this board.

funny, I thought about posting that as well, but decided not to. 03-lmfao

Fran Vasquez was drafted 11th by the Magic and never played for them.

Taylor played 54 games in the NBA averaging 1.7 pts.
Sasser played 82 games in the NBA averaging 2.3 pts
Borchardt played in 83 games and averaged 3.2 pts.
Gaines played in 71 games and averaged 1.7 pts.
Vaughn played in 118 games and averaged 2.9 pts.

Maybe they saw the news story about a homeless Vaughn and used it for their criteria.
That article was bad overall. He took the easy way out by naming too many #1 overall picks as the best. That took less thought.

Sure, Tim Duncan may be the best pick of all time for the Spurs, as in he's the best player. But, getting Manu Ginobili after 57th overall may be the better draft pick given the position.
I don't see why anyone would be bothered by this. All 3 guys were total busts and deserve the negative coverage.

Keith Lee is the biggest disappointment of all. I think it had more to do with him being so shy and such and introvert.

It was his knees and some bad advice about gaining weight that kept him from a NBA career.

I rode the bus to Rupp with Dana in '85. Was in the team hotel after the game. Took Baskerville and Willie Becton to dinner that night. Keith was saying that night that he would only play in the NBA 3 years. He wanted to coach.
Keith Lee was drafted 11th by the Bulls. He played 182 games in the NBA averaging 6.1ppg and 4.9 rpg.

Jay Williams was drafted 2nd. He played in 75 games averaging 9.5ppg, 2.6rpg and 4.7apg. He might have had a decent career if he didn't ride motorcycles. Still seems a worse waste of a pick than Lee.
No reason to ***** out a player chosen 25th. Ridiculous. I thought Lee was starting to slow down his senior year, from the weight gain. He was so small boned; I'm not surprised that he couldn't handle the extra weight.

If you're going to include Len Bias, you should include Jay Williams.

It's because of Duke Bias. 03-lmfao

Bedford is probably spot on. Cleveland could have easily been Dajuan Wagner who was drafted 6th, played in 103 games and averaged 9.4ppg but took a lot of shots since he only shot 36%.
Plus, I don't remember Vaughn being bigger than 6-9. He's listed as being a 7 footer in the article. Am I mistaken?

And no way Chuck Nevitt doesn't make this list. Worst, that is.

I always forget about the knee issue. But it still went downhill way too fast.

Still odd all these years later.
