Nice pickup for us!

Well, as time passes (and with any form of success on the field) this trend should only continue! With us and Southern joining the FBS ranks, I think the pipeline to Georgia for many mid-majors will begin to dry up over the next few years.

We shouldnt lose any kids like this to anyone going forward not even to Southern. I thnk we will get to the point with this staff that any 3 Star inside the Perimeter will immediately think GSU first.

I agree there is no reason this program can't be successful. I'm just glad we have a staff in place that recognizes this finally.

That depends on how long it takes you guys to beat us. Hopefully your new staff will turn things around quickly, but with our future facility improvements we will have a lot more to offer than in the past. However I do agree with you, for kids in the perimeter, a decent Georgia State team may look better than a good Georgia Southern squad.

LOL. Yeah, they are going to go to State over Southern.
Just remember, you ain't got 'em til they're signed. That's why I think it's ridiculous to make a big deal out of it until then. These are STILL 17-18 year olds, I remember how indecisive I was back then.

Yep still have a whole lot of time till NSD. Nevertheless, it is a step in the right direction and something a fan should get excited about.

I get excited about recruiting on NSD. Anything up until then just feels like stalking and I'm worried I'm gonna get a visit from Chris Hansen. I don't have the time or energy to keep up with what flavor of the month a kid is interested in either.

Yea I guess it's exciting, but it'll be more exciting when there's an LOI. Until then it's nothing but wishful thinking.

Just wish the 8th grader we made an offer to would give us a verbal. On pins and needles.
Bet he's thinking of that Auburn offer he got. Guess I wont get any sleep until he signs. (kidding)

Yep... that sure is one of the best programs in the country.

Funny thing is, for kids coming out, it's not about how good their high school program is. Most top players come from small schools where they play both ways for 3 or 4 years.

Case in point... Lowndes (my high school) is currently considered the #1 high school dynasty in Georgia (not sure how we rank above Buford but whatever). However, you don't see tons of kids going to big time schools. You get a few like Greg Reid and Jay Ratliff, but not as many as schools like Washington County in Sandersville.

How about Camden County. Aren't they pretty big time these days?

Stephenson has been one of the most talent-producing programs programs in the country the last several years. Their results don't quite match their talent but their reputation as a school that gets kids college scholarships has players falling all over each other moving into their district.
Stephenson's Ronnie Gartrell was the first head coach I heard of that added a staff position to facilitate recruiting for his players. Brilliant move.

They are loaded with D-1 talent every year and they are again loaded this year. They had 10 seniors sign with BCS programs last year. GA State has landed two commits from Stephenson so far.
