List your top 4 program defining figures in your school's history

USF

QB - Marquel Blackwell - clutch, bigtime producer that helped kick start USF's transition to DI-A
QB - Matt Grothe - terrorized Big East defenses and most exciting USF player to date
AD - LeeRoy Selmon - legitimized USF's football start up efforts as a community ambassador and civic difference maker
HC - Jim Leavitt - built program from nothing to #2 in the country in record time and oversaw at least half a dozen program building MONSTER WINS

Overall, my USF Mt.Rushmore focused on the program building figures in USF's short history

What say you UCF? UCONN? UC? Temple? Memphis? ECU? SMU? Tulane? Tulsa? UH?
I'll take a stab at it, but i'm sure other UCF fans will edit my list.

QB: Daunte Culpepper
RB: Kevin Smith
WR: Brandon Marshall
CB: Asante Samuels
AD - Terry Holland - too much to name; everyone knows it
Chancellor - Leo Jenkins - made the conscious decision to focus on football, vs. bball
HC - Steve Logan - made ECU well known in the 1990s college football world
Players - too many to narrow down, but I would say Robert Jones helped put us on the "more recent" map
QB- Jeff Blake/David Garrard
RB- Chris Johnson/Vonta Leach
AD- Terry Holland

Surprised you didn't put JPP on that list....

For our 1 Year in the American:
John Unitas
Michael Bush
Howard Schnellenberger - saved Cardinal Football from FCS Status when he arrived in 1984 after guiding Miami to its 1st National Title
Teddy Bridgewater current player but the player that pulled Louisville out of the Kragthorpe funk quicker then anyone could imagine.
Cincinnati:
QB Ben Mauk
HC Brian Kelly
K Jonathan Ruffin
DT Conner Barwin

AD Paul Griffin should be on that list,it was his realization that football was going to drive future expansion that led to USF starting its program. Wish he had arrived earlier.
Denny Crum- Hall of Fame coach, 2 National Titles, 6 Final Fours
Johnny Unitas- One of the NFL's all time greats
Howard Schnellenberger- Was the first to put Louisville football on the map
Tom Jurich- Guy definitely belongs here. Just an absolute outstanding AD and one of the best ever

Honorable mention: Darrell Griffith, Peck Hickman, Bobby Petrino, Wes Unseld, Rick Pitino

Take any of three of the above of and replace them with:

HC Sid Gillman
QB Greg Cook
AD Bob Goin
HC - Matty Bell - (79-40-8 SMU; 143–87–16 Overall) - @SMU - 1 National Championship, 3 SWC Championships, College Football HOF; SMU AD 1950-64
RB - Doak Walker - 3X All American, 2X Cotton Bowl MVP, Heisman Trophy, Maxwell Award, College & Pro Football Hall of Fame; 5X All Pro and Pro Bowl; 2X NFL Champion
RB - Eric Dickerson - 4,450 yds 5.6 YPC 47 TDs; 6X Pro Bowl; 5X All Pro; 4X Rushing Champion; 13,259 Career Yards and 90 TDs; Hall of Fame

After that it gets a little tricky - Raymond Berry, Forrest Gregg, Craig James, Kyle Rote, Jerry Levias, Don Meredith and on and on.

If I had to pick one of the above for greatest impact - WR - Jerry Levias - All American, MVP Senior Bowl, Academic All American, College Football HOF; helped break the color barrier in the SWC, and a man of incredible character and courage.

I'm sure other Mustang fans will add to the list.
Houston

HC: Bill Yeoman
QB: Andre Ware
LB: Wilson Whitley
QB: Case Keenum

Last one is tough between Jack Pardee and Case. I lean towards Keenum for what he meant to our program. He was such a class act. Phenomenal player, and an even better guy. He also set records for college football that will likely never be broken.

If he would of beaten USM and gotten us to the Sugar Bowl, it would be no contest. Unfortunately for us though, our coach was running the roads the week of that crucial CUSA Championship, pimpin' himself to anyone that would listen in order to drive up his price to A&M.

Feel free to add your own list. I thought about adding PG....but IMO LRS made griffin's job much easier in raising the $10-million the state board of regents required we put in 'escrow' before they would approve our new program.

Andre Hall was my other runner up.

No Steve Orsini or President Hitt?

Obviously these two are off the court Admin types...but without Orsini's /Hitt's vision you guys are no better than FAU/FIU, IMO.
Are we only talking football? 'Cause we can't even discuss Cincinnati without mentioning Oscar Robertson and Bob Huggins.
