On the way to work this morning, a street I pass everyday was closed off with a Sheriff's car preventing anyone from turning on to it. Thought I saw fire department and ambulances there - so I assumed it was an early morning fire.

Five hours later - I find out that is where they are digging for Jimmy Hoffa's remains. Just 3 1/2 miles from my house.

This is supposed to be the real thing - the ex underboss (Tony Zerelli) is spilling the beans at 85 years old and apparently has given enough details of what happened for everyone to believe it is credible. We'll see. Could also just be an elderly mobster having some fun with everyone. He is also selling a manuscript and a photo of himself that he will autograph.
Here's a tv report
Looks like the FBI may now have concrete evidence ;-)
I met my wife when we were counselors at a summer camp in the Irish Hills. Chickie Hearn owneed property on the lake and one day when allthe kids and other staff were gone a guy from the FBI showed up and had me take him around the lake in a boat looking for any oddly shaped mouns, etc.

For the next two weeks my future wife and I scoured that lake hoping to get rich by being the ones who found Hoffa. This was in 1975. Almost forty years later they'rre still looking.

Many years ago when I was a young, relatively fleet-of-foot, pursuer of bad guys, an FBI agent told me that the prevailing thought among the lawmen in Michigan was that Hoffa went through a meat processing plant in the Detroit area. To this day I still can't eat baloney.
NICE Fred LOL

I think there is something to this - but we'll see. The tore up a place in Roseville - looking under the driveway. Then they dug in a field in Milford, Michigan - underneath some concrete there as well. Seems like they had bits of information but had the wrong place. I drive by this new dig location on my way to work - and it is still fairly remote. I imagine it was in the middle of nowhere 38 years ago.

The former Red Fox is now an Andiamo's restaurant in Bloomfield Township. It is on Telegraph and around 15 mile rd. Buell Rd. is 29 mile road - so it is about 14 miles north and about another 6-7 miles east. So when they say it was 20 miles away - that puts you right about where they are digging. Milford is about 20 miles in almost exactly the opposite direction. I'm thinking Roseville is just about 20 miles nearly straight East from where the Red Fox was at.

If they don't find him this time - they will likely give up. I hope that will be the case anyway.

The strangest place ever brought up was that he was underneath Giants stadium in NY. He's also been rumored to be underneath the Silverdome and also I-275.

I might go by real early in the morning tomorrow and share a coffee with the deputy guarding the road to see what he has to say.
I thought I read a story that said he was in the concrete under the Ren Cen. Or was that some other gangster?
and the circus is over. Kind of disappointing they did not find the remains to bring this to an end. The former mobster still swears he is buried there.
