Rideau, Brown and Washington were on hand this morning for the opening of Haase Camp, Phase I. They looked very athletic.
Good to hear.
I went by Bartow the other day and saw some of the guys scrimmage. All three of the new guys you mentioned were present. Riddeau's game reminded me of Jamarr Sanders. He's skinny, lengthy, and a good shooter. I don't know how much he'll immediately contribute, but he's going to do some damage if we can get him open. Brown was matched up against Swing for the most part. He didn't score much on the afternoon, but he probably just had an off day. He appears to be a better than average 3 point shooter and a decent slasher. Washington impressed me the most. He has got a lot of muscle and can score easy down low. He also played good low post defense. He has got a great skill set that allows him to post up, slash to the basket, and shoot from up to 15-18 feet. I think he'll be a major contributor by the end of the season.

With all this being said, my observation on these players is based off of one day. To put this into perspective, I watched Rod Rucker play some last summer and thought he was average. Boy was I wrong! Next season should be a fun one.
Offense wasn't ad big a problem as defense last year. I hope some of the new guys can play d.
Christian Ponder is very athletic, too.

(yeah, yeah, I know, I just couldn't resist.)
KC is still wearing a boot. That made me sad to see.

Yeah and I think he still has another surgery on the horizon.
I stopped by and watched the guys a while.

Brown - Impressed with him. Floor leader. Will need his leadership 2014-15 season. Handled the ball pretty well. Ran some point. Agree with assessment above.
Riddeau - Yes, reminds you of Jammar only a little more athletic. Long wing span and was able to get several steals getting into passing lanes. Agree with assessment above.
CJ - Didn't have a good day but I still think he will help us right away. Agree with assessment above.

Swing - Seems to have improved his game. Scored early and often both inside and out. Looked good on defense getting into passing lanes for some steals.
PP - Didn't have a really good afternoon but can tell he is ready to go. Bulked up and one of our floor leaders.
Rob - Floor leader. Same ole Rob. Seems to shoot the ball a little better. Very quick. Showed a lot of fire and leadership on the floor.
Rod - Same ole Rod. Needs to shoot the ball better from 8-10 feet. Still a rebounding machine. Love the fire in him.
Foz - WOW Foz is bulked up. Most impressive guy of the evening. Scored pretty much at will under the basket and stepped out to hit mid-range jumpers. He appears primed for a big year with CJ taking some of the load off of him.
KC - Did not scrimmage but shot around before hand. He was lighting it up with a boot on. He did not miss much.

Just seeing them as a snap shot one time the most impressive newcomer was Riddeau.
Most impressive returning player was Foz followed by Swing.

That all may change tomorrow. It's pick up ball and they are playing with guys from other colleges. To be honest one of the 3 most impressive
guys on the floor was the 5-10 point guard from Alcorn State. He looked REALLY good. He could play for us and would have started last year over Q IMHO. I didn't catch his name.

I like the thought of having Foz and CJ on the floor together when we go big. Cant wait to see Tosin in person.

That's all I got.
