Anyway..... There is no downside to the Fountains.
- Twin Peaks, Nordstrom Rack, and a few others ARE new retailers, which makes this a gain in retailers in this market
- The old Farah building was an eyesore that is gone (and on prime real estate).
- As Mista stated, the buildings Barnes n Noble, and Best Buy leave behind will be used by someone else. And there will be a domino-effect in property occupancy.
- The Fountains Shopping Center value increases tax revenue.
- Along with the Outlet Mall, Las Palmas, and other new shopping areas, it attracts some folks into town. That WOULD BE new money- not ALL of it... But there is a marginal increase.
I'm sure there are more reasons, but he can try to dismiss one or two of these gains. But he can't dismiss them all.
