I'm not bothered by that. It takes a certain great hands - crazy bastard something to return punts, and I'm not sure they trust Joe that much.
I could see him returning kickoffs, though.

Maybe it is a sign that his stock is improving.
He is valuable, therefore the risk of him being injured in returning punts is too great of a risk to take.

I'm not sure Joe is fast enough to return kicks in the NFL, and I hope they don't put him back there to field punts ever. Some of the biggest hits occur when a guy doesn't call for the fair catch and just gets completely wiped out.
Line him up in multiple positions on offense, and get the ball in his hands 5-10 times a game. He's a playmaker, and he's going to be raw at the wideout position.
Considering the way the Vikings have handled him for 3+ years now though, I fully expect they'll have Ponder throwing 50 yard bombs to Joe about 5 times a game instead.

Based on the dreaded comments, the Viking fans are getting tired of the whole Joe Webb situation. Joe is just too talented not to make huge contributions.

I'd love for.the Vikes to drop him and get scooped up by team like Seattle... Pete Carroll would actually use.him.
