With the returning talent and experience, we should expect to be at the top of the conference and at least get to the finals of the SBC tournament.

I believe we could have a nice regular season. Assuming we get good inside play, we should be pretty solid throughout the season.
However, I'm not very optimistic about our tournament chances. We just haven't played well in the tournament, and that's an understatement, with one exception, since Steve has been here. That's not an indictment of Steve. It's just a fact. And of course there's an element of luck in the tournament. A one game elimination is tough.

The league should eliminate the tournament, and have a one game playoff for the NCAA bid between the conference champion and the runner up, played on the champion's home court. There is no doubt in my mind it would be better for our league.

Another alternative would be to hold the tournament at the league champion's home court. Just the top four teams in the league would participate. #3 would play #4 on Friday night. Winner would play #2 on Saturday night. And winner would then play the league champion on Sunday or Monday for the automatic bid. I don't believe if you're worse than #4 in the Sun Belt, that you deserve a chance to go to the NCAA tournament. It's bad for the league. Just my thoughts.04-cheers
I don't disagree with the things you have said. I especially agree about only 4 teams or so should be included in a conference play-off to determine the conference rep for the big dance. And I have always thought the play-off games should be played on the home courts where there would be fan interest. I don't see how the conference benefits by playing the tournament at a place like N.O.. I would like to see a poll of fans at all the schools about this.

My assessment was based on everyone back. Losing 3 of our top 7 guys is not what I expected.
Dont give a ****. Time for the once a decade team to win.
