Both of these have 4 SBC teams in : Troy as a #3 seed in both projections and Louisiana, FAU and South Alabama as as #2 seeds.
Western Carolina (the only team the SoCon has a chance to get in as a 2nd team) is out of both projections although SE Baseball has them as the 1st team out.

The Cajuns have the 2nd highest RPI in the league and will be a #2 (probably in Baton Rouge.) I would say that the only #3 seed would be FAU because of their RPI.

NCAA is valuing this new RPI formula over all others this year. I like the Cajuns chances of being a 2 over Troy's. Those 2 losses to ASU really hurt Troy.
If anyone out of the league is a 3 seed, it will be Troy. Do I think the Trojans deserve a 3? No. But RPI is valued over head to head in many cases this year.

OK whatever you want to think. Personally I believe that Troy, UL and USA will get 2 seeds and FAU will be a 2 or 3. This is strictly based on RPI. The good news is we do not have long to wait.
Troy people definitely are the highest rated school in terms of smack in all sports though. (but only since UNT is gone though)

Yes it is a fact.
But the selection committee will only use that as a tool to separate 2 and 3 seeds that are close. Louisiana and Troy are not close in the RPI and therefore the fact that Troy shared the conference championship will not come in to play. Louisiana will be a 2 seed. Troy is borderline and may be a 2 seed but it won't bump Louisiana to a 3 seed.

Really doesn't matter that much. 2 seed plays 3 seed in first game and both avoid 1 seed in first game.

FACT: The NCAA Selection Committee often does not care who wins a conference championship.
Realistically we're splitting hairs over who is playing as the designated home team in the 1st round and who is not. Troy could be a three with a better regional draw than a 2 seed ULL who is likely Baton Rouge bound.

Truth is, Troy didn't get it done in the tournament. Troy is good enough to be a #2 seed, but only winning in the first round of the SBC tournament hurts. Either way Troy is in.
Further proof that RPI is making decisions this year is in the hosting announcements.
South Carolina and Virginia Tech are both hosting primarily because they have a high RPI, even without an overly impressive record. My guess is that Troy may be a 3.

That's a load of garbage and you know it. Georgia Southern is the biggest smack talkers here followed closely by Louisiana.
Once the 3 biggest loudmouths who claim to be Ga. Southern fans have been banned then the rep of Ga. Southern fans being braggards and smack talkers is greatly reduced.

In the month or so I have been on this site the Louisiana posters seem to have the Georgia Southern posters beat by a good bit in the smack talk and "We are bettter than you." talk.
