Not a problem chief. I do think, though, the WAC needs to re-evaluate their tourney format.
UTA bullpen hasn't been a strength all year. Need them now though with TXST leading 5-0 and the bases loaded with one out.
B6 UTA has the bases loaded with one out, down 7-0.

A four-pitch walk to the ninth place hitter puts the tying run on deck. 7-2 Texas State.
And this is what I was talking about with UTA not being able to get timely hitting. Leadoff hitter ended the inning and is 1-4 on the day. Had runners in scoring position twice, but the one hit came when it mattered the least.
In the bottom of the eighth, UTA had runners at 2nd and 3rd, but a popout ends the inning. To the top of the 9th, UTA trails 8-2.

Those pool play games can be tricky. Texas State wanted to beat UTA and knock them out. You never know how a team will react knowing the game is meaningless. Last year ASU got lucky when we got the right things to fall an faced a must win situation against an opponent playing a meaningless game. They came out lackluster and we won by 5 runs.
Ill pretend the championship game the next day didn't happen....
I don't hate UTSA like some teams, but I can think of five teams in the tourney that I would rather win. DBU is last on that list. Absolutely hate their fans, and being a local team, I am more familiar with them than I would like.
The other thing the win did was guarantee the Bobcats would finish ahead of the Mavs in the Commissioner's Cup standings.
With only baseball left, we were two points behind. We finished tied for first giving us 9.5 regular season points. Texas State finished third, giving them 8. We needed to finish two spots ahead to get that last .75 points. Congrats.
