Rutgers and Louisville, in the American for one year, won't be in Ponte Vedra. All new schools -- even ECU, Tulane, Tulsa, Navy -- will be.

The American Conference will Have a National Market with 110 + Games on ESPN in Men's Basketball. #UCF_MBasketball

And apparently the logo is being passed around, and people like it, but nobody is releasing it.
Its sort of silly for him to say "even..... will be". Of course those schools will be at the meeting. Decisions that decide their future will be made.
What are the odds we get to see our new logo by the end of the week?

Everything happens on a Tuesday...
According to Matt Fortuna (ESPN) the new logo is not expected to be revealed for a few more weeks. Which is what Aresco said 3 weeks ago. Don't really understand the wait.

They want to make sure nobody else already has the logo, unlike they did with the name. 03-idea

... .

Not to try to remove the scandal, but in fairness to Louisville and Rutgers in the ESPN article linked on this page, the writer states: "Louisville and Rutgers will not attend the meetings. According to conference bylaws, once a school announces that it is leaving the conference, it cannot attend formal conference meetings.
i really dont understand the big holdout on the logo. Schools need to have it so they can start marking athletic facilities. What the hell is aresco waiting on.
Things are going better than I expected.

I kinda figured they's show up and all the rooms at the inn would have already been rented to the ACC and Big Ten.

Nitpicking 101 right there.
So i guess no one is going to tweet any news from these meetings. Seems too quiet.

Those meetings were last week.

The American meetings are wrapped for the day. Mostly focused on branding, some revenue areas. "Fair" split, he said. #osucf

Big East/American commissioner Mike Aresco says member schools have agreed to a "fair" model to split exit/entrance fees among schools.

Mike Aresco said he's very pleased with the overall reaction to the rebranding of the conference as The American.

Expect a logo to be formally approved here, but not unveiled until next week at earliest. Bowl lineup preliminarily discussed, too. #osucf

Quote:Greg Auman ‏@gregauman 2m
Aresco said discussion remains on narrowing potential sites for men's/women's basketball tournament venues, as well as new bowl lineup.

Doesn't mean they don't want to spoil our party.

I'm happy for him and those in attendance. However, I'm sticking with the AAC acronym....
Yeah I'm glad Aresco is happy that the AD's like it, but what really matters are the fans liking it
Feels like we will get the Basketball Tournament Location very soon. Maybe tomorrow or Wednesday

Not that this was a huge mystery, but I'm told AAC meetings affirmed next year's hoops schedule will be 18 games, double round-robin.
