Interesting. I was talking to the War Memorial Stadium people about 10 weeks ago and at that time they were saying they hoped to get Sun Belt vs. AAC in hopes that any year they couldn't get Arkansas State that they would have a shot at Memphis, Tulsa or SMU.

I'll try to make some calls next week.

This actually would be an excellent location for a CUSA bowl as its almost in the center of the fooprint. War Memorial holds 58K I think, so thats a good stadium size too.

I concur
Has War Memorial been renovated lately? Last time Tech played Arkansas there in the late 90's it was in pretty bad shape. It would be a great location though.
Outdoor stadium in arkansas in december.....sunbelt vs cusa. interesting ill give u that.
Isn't there a moritorium on new bowls? When did this expire?
When I think of cool cities to visit for a bowl game, I think of Little Rock...
This is great news. Especially for Chi-town. He'll at least have one opportunity to see a decent football game after suffering through another season of Wolo and TigerVision.
I would think AAC could get this one over us if they want it. I suppose it could replace a potential loss of bowl game to theconferenceformerlyknownastheBigEast.

Moratorium ends after this year
"So, you boys are from Arkansas, huh? Well, I've been through there. Little Rock's a fine town."

I remember as a kid going on vacation to arkansas. We went to some caves & on all the posters & brouchures there was a cool waterfall in the cave. When asked where it was the tour guide ppl said it wasnt tourist season quite yet so they had not turned it on. There was no cool cave waterfall.

Ive never had a desire to go back to arkansas after that.
IMO, CUSA needs to look at getting another bowl game in San Antonio

Not if we really are adding Arkansas State (this bowl) and ULL (New Orleans Bowl).

The AAC is indeed struggling with Bowl Game issues. Not sure how it will all work out. I suspect that we will have at least one or two bowls in which the AAC vs CUSA occurs.

lol..."struggling" is an understatement. I got the impression for the article that this game is somehow connected to the Sunbelt (sorta like the New Orleans Bowl). If thats the case, then the Sunbelt is likley locked into one side of the bowl. If its not the case, I suppose it could very well end up being a CUSA vs AAC affair.

If CUSA grabs Arkansas State and ULL, then I could definitely see it being an AAC vs CUSA game.
Any additional bowls are a good thing, whether we get them or not. Extra slots equal less competition.

According to wiki, they got field turf in 2006 and the last round of remodels took place in '09-'10
