Cool piece.
Mister had the good fortune of landing with Coach Don Nelson, a creative coach who loved looking for unconventional matchups to give an edge to his usually undertalented teams. A standard NBA coach might have overlooked a 5'7" point guard.

Mr. had the genius to make it work, but Nelson had the smarts to give him a chance.
Jennings, Warriors taking advantage of new 3-point line

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Mister Jennings stopped dribbling near the top of the key, looked quickly to his right and stared at the open space down the lane.
Then he did what the undefeated Golden State Warriors are doing so well this season -- he hit a 3-pointer, and broke into a huge smile.
With forwards Chris Mullin and Chris Webber on the sidelines, the Warriors are winning with outside shooting. They have started the season with five straight victories, their longest season-opening winning streak since Wilt Chamberlain and the Philadelphia Warriors went 9-0 in 1960.
They already have broken the team record for 3-point attempts three times this season, including 30 from long range in Saturday night's 121-99 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. That was only one attempt short of the NBA record, 31 by Sacramento in a 1989 game against the Warriors.
We've got a lot of guys that can shoot 3's,", said Latrell Sprewell, who has made 8-of-28 attempts from behind the three-point line this season. "We penetrate and kick it back out to who is spaced well. We're assigned spaces on the floor."
The Warriors and Lakers combined for 48 3-point attempts, setting an NBA record. The previous mark was 47, set by Orlando and New York last April and matched by Phoenix and Seattle Friday night.
The NBA's decision to move the line in from a maximum of 23 feet, 9 inches, to 22 feet before this season to help boost offenses and open up the lane has led to a league-wide increase in 3-pointers.
And in Golden State, where Mullin could be out until January with an injured knee, and Webber remains unsigned, it has turned into the key to success.

In another blurb within "Sports Briefs" of that same JC Press issue (from the post above), we have this:

"ETSU tailback Brian Edwards was named freshman of the week after carrying 21 times for 144 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-13 win over UT-Chattanooga. Edwards has led ETSU in rushing six times this season."
