College football was a lot different back then. And he hadn't been around 'big time' college football yet. So I would guess no...But I was only 1.5 years old at that time, so I have no idea 03-lmfao
No, I loved playing for him...i wish he would have stuck around a few more years. I would probably have 3 championship rings instead of 1.

very cool! i had just got to toledo when saban was mopping the floor with the mac so i missed alot. but i did see the 10 win season when the rockets didnt get a bowl game, that was just awful
I have a good friend whose son played LB for UT under Saban. The son only has good things to say about St.Nick.
Maybe the foulest mouth in the history of college football, even to his office staff - if those thing bother you. My recollection is that his one recruiting class was a real disaster with a lot of kids not being eligible.

I was going to trot out Dakich but he wasn't in football.
You could tell the intensity of the players on the field on game day went up under Saban after he took over for Simrell. (like Tampa said, wished he would have been here a few more years)
Sitting in on a couple of spring practices was entertaining to say the least... Outside of having a very colorful dialogue when there were screwups on the field, Nick Saban did command a lot of respect...
