Split from NCAA = Split from mid-majors = Split from David vs. Goliath match-ups, Cinderella teams and storybook runs to glory in the Big Dance = Split from national obsession with March Madness = Split from stellar TV ratings that attract advertisers = Split from goose that lays golden egg
Well, just recently said that the next step would see happening would be the public usage of The Media to leverage the NCAA for new rules. New rules also means a new Division which could use the new rules while the schools left behind wouldn't have to conform to any new rules in order to compete.

Well, here we are, another well known entity calling for this supposed Exodus IF the rule changes don't happen.

That is called leverage folks. The changes are going to happen, no one will be leaving the NCAA.
Didn't hear him complain about the NCAA when he was Memphis HC. Things that make you go hmmmm
Yawn.
How about we separate Calipari from the NCAA - by banning the cheating SOB for life
Calipari should be the last one talking -Kentucky usually doesn't have any decent non-conference opponents at home other than whichever of Louisville or North Carolina happen to visit that year.
Simply put...He's a SCUMBAG!!
My guess...Calipari & his Kentucky Wildcats must be up against the "Salary Cap"...

This. I just don't understand the obsession some have to "split", particularly when it pertains to basketball. Didn't we just witness an NCAA tournament where Wichita State made it to the Final Four? They didn't even win by shooting the lights out or hitting some fluke half-court shot at the buzzer-- they physically dominated some teams in power conferences (ie. Ohio State).
IMO the move towards a split of Division 1 began with the formation of the CFA. I've believed all along that it would eventually lead to a further split along power lines, and nothing that has happened has changed that belief. It's inevitable eventually...

In fairness, that is because they get invited and set up big time neutral games in pro arenas or football stadiums (Baylor at the Jerry Dome, the Champions Classic, etc.). Duke is very similar. You rarely see them travel into a non-conference opponent's arena. That does the top tier teams no good in preparing for the NCAA tournament. They need to play in large arenas and domes since that is where the tournament games are held.

He's never received an NCAA violation, unlike Bill Self and Jim Calhoun. He was cleared of any wrongdoing for the Camby, Rose, and Bledsoe incidents. Just a friendly reminder from the Calipari apologist society :)

Yeah, when he and Saban are the ones suggesting a split it makes you realize what a bad idea it must be.

Saban is unquestionably the most successful football coach over the last 4 years, and Calipari is at least top 3 (Bill Self and pick your fav) in basketball. Both are winning the recruiting wars by a sizable margin. That takes foresight and strategy. Why would their ideas immediately be considered bad? It just seems to be a blanket statement with no rationale.
Calipari: "They (NCAA) have embarrassed me. I've done nothing..."

Yeah, and OJ Simpson and Casey Anthony were acquitted of murder.
