Momentum gaining for ACC to hold future hoops tourneys at Madison Square Garden, sources told @espn

Good find. Hopefully it comes to fruition in some capacity. It would be very good for the ACC.
While the majority of the coaches seem to now be in favor, many AD's and Pres. are very skeptical. FSU Pres wasn't in favor at last check neither is part of the Wake or UNC contingent. Concerns over fan attendance and fan response in NC, but ESPN is really REALLY pushing it, and seems a general consensus that if it came to a vote it will happen.
Are we talking about them being part of a rotation or permanent?
Rotation, problem is MSG wants at least 5 years in row guaranteed, ACC is willing to alternate every year between Gboro and MSG but not much else. Seems something broke through today.

From talking to a few coaches today, it did seem like the MSG contingent has made some progress, though it's still an uphill climb.

Which schools are the biggest supporters of MSG?
I know that adding MSG to the rotation is a major goal, but given that it is unlikely to be available during the current period up for review, why is the conference not looking at the Barclay's Center for 2018-21, even if only for one year? The A10 tournament is contracted there only through 2017. Holding out for MSG may actually reduce the chances of ever playing in NYC.

Cuse, Pitt, BC, Ville and NC State/Duke. GT's new AD also seemed to have a positive view on it as well.

Clemson, VA Tech and Miami seem to be ok and would go with either majority.
FSU and UNC are toss ups. UVA will go with UNC, Wake as of now seems to be a NO, I feel their brothers could convince them though.
I get the sense they view barclays as second fiddle - ie MSG or bust....

It is.

If you play at Barclays while the BE is playing at MSG, it is essentially like being on the undercard.

But what you really don't want in NYC is the B10.

The B1G can play at the Pru -- in NJ where their member is located!

I get that MSG is the Mecca of College Hoops. Big time college hoops was practically born at the Old Garden. That said, it could be worth a test visit to NYC for say one tournament in 2018 to plant the flag.

It's more than worth a test visit. SU, Pitt, ND, UL, and BC all have to want this pretty bad. Not surprised Coach K is on board as he also regularly schedules games in the Garden.

It is really is also alot about NYC being the #1 media market in the world as anything else. It's like getting to take Rutgers without having to take Rutgers.

It will also help open NYC to recruiting to other ACC schools.
Here is a map of where NBA talent originates from. Going strong to epicenter should be a no-brainer.

Did someone say "bring it strong to the basket?"
