Dr. Michio Kaku, anyone?

That is awesome! Glad to see they're getting good folks now days. I think ours was like a VP of some bank when I graduated.

That is cool. I have zero recollection of who the graduation speaker was when I walked in 1990 at GSU, but for some reason distinctly remember that former Surgeon General Louis Sullivan was the graduation speaker when I graduated from the Medical College of Georgia. I didn't bother going to my MBA graduation, I opted instead to sit at home and drink beer that Saturday with two other guys in my class.

Really because if I drive the streets of Atlanta and ask 100 random people who "Southern" is I am almost certain that the majority will talk about the SWAC school.

That is why I used Atlanta

TROY had graduation today as well. The governor of Alabama was the guest speaker today.

Add that with the Sun Belt softball tournament going on, as well as the Troy/stAte baseball game. It's a busy weekend on campus!

When you talk about schools in Georgia it's UGA, Tech, and Southern. At least that's what we say in Columbus.

Congrats! It's amazing that you guys had Dr. michio Kaku as a speaker. That's something those graduates will never forget.

So disappointed I didn't get back to the Boro in time to see him. But, Mrs. gasoutherneagle was his handler for the day and drove him back to Savannah to catch his plane... can't wait to see her tonight!

I never made that claim, I don't assume that everyone knows who we are. We have an identity problem that stems from racially charged hate and fear with Louisiana dating back to the 60's through the official name change in 1984 that was stripped from us.

But calling GaSo by just Southern is not gonna fly. Know one will associate Southern with anything other than the SWAC program.

"Southern" is actually a pretty well know nickname for Georgia Southern University. People know what school you're talking about when you simply say "Southern"... and now you do too.
