to "College Sports and Conference Realignment" ... and perhaps simply "College Sports" in the future.

It is a generic college sports board for all sports all conferences and all levels ... but with an admittedly heavy realignment tilt.

That's a winner. It's broader and doesn't drop a key search word.
I was hoping for "Arlo"
I really do not think you should drop the realignment name anytime soon. It's cool to add on to it because the board HAS morphed but it became what it is through realignment. I realize the owner of the board is ACC slanted and that most of the moderators are of Big East descent and or ACC so you guys have a bad taste in your mouth for realignment but realignment is big these days and dropping the name would be bad for business too, in my opinion.
Realignment is over for the P5, but since only one of those conference boards are actually active, than that means those who actually post here have more realignment coming in the near future.

I don't think realignment is over at the top, there is too much money lying on the table. However, I have no clue how it gets restarted or who would move and who would even make a move. There are plenty of legal issues now.

It seems like you guys are waiting until next year or late this year. The ones I posted, I figure will have moves done by this summer.
Very true that most of the mods are of Big East descent.
we may see some moves by the end of the month. For FCS callups, the deadline to get in for the 2014 season is June 1 or 3 weeks from now.

I think it is done for close to ten years at the top, maybe longer.

I have always thought that CR was overstated by many and that inertia would ultimately prevail in the fairly moderate, temperate, conservative, traditional environment that is major college athletics.

We will have to wait to find out.

How many are we allowed to vote for? I nominated Bob but on the mod board also endorsed Wedge.
Actually posted that in the wrong thread 03-banghead

We are just bored for the time being. I will start again...

Mental pause strikes again... 04-cheers
I don't mean to be a bother but there is no guarantee that the Big Ten is done, and if they happen to take a team from the B12 or SEC then thatll restart realignment all over again.

Except the one school they would take from the Big12 with encumbered rights doesn't want to go, and nobody is leaving the SEC (just like nobody is leaving the Big Ten). So the odds of either of those happening anytime soon is quite low.

Surely when the Big12 GOR is a few years from expiration, there'll be a bit of looking around to see whether things have changed, but until then, P5 "conference realignment" will be an occasional squint around by the Big12 whether there's a pair of Go5 schools that are worthwhile inviting.

There is still realignment to come in the Go5, since the Sunbelt is one school shy of the 12 it is aiming for, and the MAC is at an awkward 13 in football, so either has to find a 14th or tell UMass to toddle along somewhere else.

And of course the aftershocks of the New Big East in the non-football subdivision have just started, some of which may spill over into the FCS subdivision, and there are likely to be two more schools invited into the New Big East, which will set off a new round of aftershocks.

But if this was restricted to being a "Major Conference Realignment" discussion board, it'd end up being as busy as an Atari or Commodore 64 newsgroup on Usenet.
