Solid 13-3 win over a good Marshall team. Defense was fantastic.
What is a bigger concern for Georgia? The offensive power shown in the Vols vs Gators game or the defensive power in the Tigers vs War Eagles game. Since Georgia gets to play all four and there was only 3 total points seperating both games.
We're gonna kick Tennessee's butt. They don't have our speed on defense and they won't be able to score on ours either. Plus we're in their heads.
Just wanted to say "Nice win yesterday." Your defense was dominant!!
Even when you just rushed four players and dropped seven you manhandled the line. Pollack is a monster and he lived up to all the hype I've read about him. (Just thought he would be bigger) I think we had all of seven first downs.

That 57 yard completion on the games first offensive play was definately not a sign of things to come.

I'm happy that we have a good D this year or this game could have been ugly. I think Georgia had about 16 yards rushing entering the fourth quarter. We held Ohio State to 79 yards for the whole game.

Good luck to you the rest of the way. I'll be rooting for you to win the National Championship.
Thanks, Herd-Fan. 04-cheers
My origional question was not to provoke smack. However, if the Vols were barely getting Ws against UGA's schedule so far, I'd be on the defensive too. If you don't want to answer the question that's fine. We'll have plenty of answers soon, when UGA has to play some real teams.
Real teams? If our QB hadn't got knocked out of the game last year things may have turned out differently. Talk all the smack you want but I was more impressed with Georgia this year than Tennessee last year.

From CFN:

Sept. 6
Tennessee 34 ... Marshall 24
What happened: Tennessee took the lead in the second quarter and never trailed the rest of the way, but it was a dogfight. The Vols got three touchdown passes from Casey Clausen and two fourth quarter field goals from James Wilhoit. Marshall's Stan Hill threw for three touchdown passes before getting knocked out of the game with a leg injury.
Player of the game: Tennessee RB Cedric Houston carried the ball 26 times for 160 yards.
What to take from this if you're a Marshall fan: The Herd might have lost to the Vols, but this was the type of great performance against a good team that might give the team even more confidence. The receivers were all but uncoverable by the fast Tennessee defensive backs, and Stan Hill might have come of age, even though he got hurt.
Thoughts & notes: Penalties: Tennessee 12 for 118 yards - Marshall 8 for 80. ... Rushing yards: Tennessee 223 - Marshall 88. ... Marshall: Hill completed 16 of 24 passes for 242 yards and three touchdown. ... Darius Watts caught nine passes for 109 yards and a score. Josh Davis caught six passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. ... Tennessee: Casey Clausen completed 21 of 33 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns with an interception. ... James Banks caught four passes for 45 yards and a score.

To answer your question: I'm not really intimidated by any of those four teams you mentioned. Florida scares me because they have our number, but I still feel like this is our year to beat them.

I apologize for laying into Tennessee. I was really just letting out some frustration over people not giving us our due credit.
Thanks for your honest response Gdawg. I give Georgia a lot of respect for their performance last year. But that was last year. I've not been impressed by Georgia yet. They have not been the dominating team I thought we would see this year. Not that I don't see them as a threat in the East, but they play four of the top 5 teams in the SEC. Georgia being the other. It will be easier for UF or UT to finish with one loss than for Georgia.

Now for Herd Fan. I never said that Marshall was a pushover. However they don't strike the necessary fear that it takes to have a great game. I said UGA's schedule. I am of the opinion that Georgia has not found it's stride yet. Ohio State has not looked good yet either. So I am not impressed with this years Marshall team. The Cocks have a win over Vandy which doesn't prove much. And any win over a 1AA team should not be a barometer of your teams ability.
I know you said UGA's schedule....& we just happen to be on it.
