Rice remains #19 on BA's poll.

Every other team played this week. Rice had no games. Does that imply that we are on a different schedule, or that other teams play thru finals (since they couldn't be that important...)?

I know Stanford does the same thing for their end of quarter exams in March. I guess most schools just play through it.
Surely it must be schedule. I have always assumed that the break was an NCAA rule. Pretty irresponsible if it isn't.

Pretty sure there is no rule. UH is playing over finals. Tulane is playing over finals. Just a couple examples.
Stanford took off a week earlier this year, and I believe both UNC and UVA are off next week.

Stayed at #20 in Perfect Game's poll.
We moved up from #12 to #18 in the writer's poll.
I wonder if the fact that we moved up 2 spots while playing no one is a subtle dig on the strength this year of the opponents we actually do play.

Up from 12 to 18? Not sure that's good.

Oops: meant #20 to #18. Operator error!
Looks like Houston has gone off the rails as far as the CUSA race goes. Rice has UAB-Memphis-Marshall left on the schedule. If Rice were to match what SMiss did against those teams, they'd close out the CUSA slate with 8-1 to finish 17-7. If SMiss drops one to each of ECU and UH, then Rice and SMiss would finish with a tie. Meanwhile, UCF finishes with ECU and Tulane - one loss in those six games would have them finishing at 17-7 as well. It's not hard to conceive a three way tie in the conference race, but IMHO, Rice would have to be perfect to win an uncontested title.

You are probably right. Certainly anything less than 8-1 will knock us out, unless both UCF and USM self destruct like the Cougars. But even 9-0 might not be enough.
Up to #19 from #20 in collegebaseballinsider's composite poll...

...and someone please give me an explanation for Collegiate Baseball ranking Oklahoma all the way up at #10, while keeping us way down at #27??? And some people still give Collegiate Baseball an iota of credence?
