Will has to perform at the level most expected when he arrived on campus. He's been a good player, but nowhere near what some were expecting. I always think of LRTrojan, who always holds out judgement until he sees what a player does on the court. Our expectations often exceed what actual performance takes place.
Let's hope that Will has that special year we need.01-lauramac2

I still believe Will is an exceptional player, and could have been as good as any we've ever had if he had been used properly. I thought before Will ever arrivved on campus that he was being projected to be the greatest thing since peanut butter, and that was a mistake. Anything short of being the next Larry Bird, most of you fans were going to be disappointed. He has not been the next Bird. Most likely was never going to be anywhere near that good, but he hasn't had the chance to be as good as he could be, by being played out of position.
It's that "hindsight" thing again. I have had the thought especially this past year that Will is a player that most likely didn't make the right choice in coming to UALR. Seems to me that whatever system our coaches try to coach it definitely is not suited for Will Neighbor. I still believe he is a very good BB player but not playing in the right system for his talents. Just my thinking. No, he is no Larry Bird, but who is?
Miss Nettie Bird? No. Wait. She was my grade school principal.

I was hoping to see a progression with Will when we signed him. I think at the time I said I was hoping he would average about 12 his first year 15 or 16 his second year, and maybe 18 to 20 his senior season. Probably a little optimistic. I do think he could hit that 15-16 number next year and be a first team Sun Belt player. That's what I'm hoping for. If he does, we should be in the Top 3 in the Belt.
The offense will have to provide him with more shots and he'll have to take them instead of passing them up looking for a better shot.
