At the risk of another Idaho LB thread...

He was committed to Rice before he got a PSU offer.

Not sure if he can play immediately or sit out but he has his RS year still available.

Chances are if he cant measure up as QB at Penn St, he isnt good enough for NIU.

I'm starting to think you are just flame baiting...I think Dyno was right.

Name the last good Penn St qb
Now that I think about it, Penn St. really hasn't had a good QB in a while.

He wasn't highly recruited out of high school. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/re...nch-124504
Michael Robinson was good.

He's from Georgia and it looks like Penn State was his only FBS offer, but anybody transferring from PSU before next season can play immediately.

So was Daryll Clark. 43 TDs, 16 INTs combined as a Jr. and Sr.

Forgot about him.
My only point was lets not assume just because it is a PSU transfer that it is someone who would make sense. After all NIU finished well ahead of PSU last year.

Well, Penn State won at Iowa by 24 points so...

Anyway, you're actually right, he's not any good and isn't a fit for NIU's offense.

This is off topic and random but does Lynch have draft potential next year, would he be of the same status as Harnish going into the draft?

Have to see how he develops, but I like Harnish's throwing ability more at this stage of their careers. Plus, Lynch is short.

Right now, based on where Harnish went, I don't think Lynch would get drafted, but he still has some time to develop. Overall, I think they're fairly similar prospects.
I would have a hard time believing he (Lynch) is a QB at the next level.

I believe that Lynch will be drafted in the late rounds next year as a RB/TE/ Special Teams/ hard nosed, resilient, old school football player...
Helps that Wilson has been successful, maybe less problems with his height. And Kapernick, and other running QB's are becoming more popular. A lot better chance than he would have had 5 years ago, but still think he's more likely to end up at another position. That being said, he was only a starter for one year, let's see what he looks like after another offseason.
Cole mentioned in the X's and O's that he felt Lynch was a better thrower than Wilson and that he's taller than Wilson. I think he feels he could make it. Of course it comes down how he plays this year. Another thing he did say was that he feels that Lynch is a better thrower than a runner.

Now that many NFL teams are toying with the zone read/pistol, JL may have a (very) slim chance at sticking as a free agent QB. But, I'd guess his best shot would be at safety or maybe RB.
