And since someone posted some alternate unis, I'll bring this one up again. Now officially banned by the NCAA. No player names on the back. Just the French words "unite, combattre, fierte, croire" that translate to unity, fight, pride, and believe.

FYI- App is getting new uniforms this year. The helmets should stay the same, but I have no idea what the rest will look like.

This is what happens when each sport's HC is allowed to control the uniforms and branding for his/her sport. The day I was told that by athletics staff in a room full of other concerned fans you could hear a pin drop.

"ummm...WHAAAT?!?"



Sometimes things are simple, like...why not do alternates and do THIS?

I love the fluer de lis uniforms by ULL. I think they look better than the normal uniforms.

Well, yes, I like the stAte jerseys the best. I like the flat black helmets, the logo (both logos being used but especially the clean look of the block logo), the all black, the red jerseys with the black pants, etc.

Our uniforms in the late 90s were Ole Miss ripoffs and weren't great and the "Letterhead Joe" logo was horrendous.

Yeah, that Fluer de lis outfit is money.

I thought we had agreed not to speak to each other? I would appreciate it if you would stick to the agreement.

I will address your point this time though, because you are mistaken. I intentionally left off Troy because it is my own team, and WKU, because they will not be in the Conference after this season.

You had a problem with that, I'm sure simply to cause a stink, but it wasn't an insult toward the Toppers. The entire roster appears as it will once Ga Southern and App State are full members, WKU will nolonger be here at that time. See, that's why I did it that way.

Hopefully y'all wouldn't mind the opinion of a fan whose school is leaving the SBC? I feel as if this is my expertise, uniforms.
I love sharp looking traditional uniforms, which puts me in the extreme minority as a student at FAU. LOL. Also schools that have their home uniform pants in any other color than white won't get too good of a ranking. Especially if they pants are the same color as the jersey.
This ranking is based on PRIMARY home jerseys. I'll add a comment about the away or an alternate uniforms for some schools.

1.Western Kentucky. Hands down. One of the best uniforms in college football. Love that the double stripes are reoccurring throughout the uniform, with white stripes on red and vice versa. Please scrap the double red uniform. Way to go 'tops! Can't wait to see this jersey back at FAU Stadium in a few years.
2. Georgia State. In a near tie with Texas State, I give the edge to GSU for their gorgeous royal blue-white combo. The helmet is slick and not too busy, but I wouldn't mind ditching the red under the "GSU" or adding the Pounce logo. Have room to add a little bit of black on the stripes and the numbers, but why fix something that's not broken? Go Panthers!
3. Texas State. I great set, almost ruined by those scratches on the side (watch out A-State; but don't fret Adidas screwed us over too with our wings). The maroon jersey with the gold helmet and white pants is the perfect combo. Primary color jersey, secondary color helmet, and white pants, how it should be. Numbers are modern but keep it classy. The maroon jersey gold pants is one of my favorite alternates. Eat 'em up 'cats!
4. South Alabama. Technically, the first "modern" looking jersey in my rankings. The design is common, but not overdone, and looks fresh with the red jersey. The helmet, along with ULM and WKU's might be one of the most underrated in the SBC. Very simple, very clean. The pants look good, as the striping isn't over done. Love the navy blue jersey, white pants alternate and the white jersey, navy blue pants away alternate. SIYM!
5. Troy. Very simple maroon, on marron, on white look. The helmet looks nice, even though the shield in the logo blends in a bit too much with the background of the helmet. The stripe on the helmet is awesome, truly original as it matches the sword that's on Troy's logos. I loved having Troy fans come to Boca, and it's a team that I will miss. Best of luck Trojans!
6. Louisiana. You have to love how fresh and original the flor de lis and how it''s gradually incorporated into the uniform. While I'm not the biggest fan of the black pants, the large "Ragin' Cajun" script on the helmet rally makes the entire set look awesome. If the white pants was the primary and not the alternate, y'all could make run for #1. Geaux Cajuns!
7. Louisiana Monroe. While I love the helmet and parts of the jersey. Something about the complete uniform just seems a bit off. I think I like the numbers, but they might be too italicized. I like the gold stripes, but it's strange how they don't really connect. With all of these problems, ULM still pulls of a decent looking uniform. Hell, it sure looked good when they kicked our ass this past season.
8. Georgia Southern. Sometimes, too simple is a bit of a problem. I get the history, and I respect that GaSo athletics won't sell out to flashy uniforms, but those things put me to sleep. When I said I like traditional uniforms, I should've stated that helmets with numbers in place of logos are a huge no-go for me. Don't worry, I dislike Alabama's even more, so I'm not biased in this one bit against y'all. The jersey looks solid,but the lack of a border on the numbers or any stripes (on the pants as well) really makes me think I'm watching a game in the 50's. Watching the option style offense only reinforces that thought (which is actually pretty cool.) Best of luck in the FBS!
9. Arkansas State. I understand that red and black is your thing. Having the team come onto the field in all black lead by the wolf on the bike is pretty bad ass. If I was a visiting player at your to capacity night games and I see that, I'm pretty sure I'd crap my pants. But on television, the whole uniform doesn't look as good as it could. I would love to see a red and white combo with the 2011 jersey and number style, now that would look great! The scratches really do the jersey an injustice. The helmet and it's logo is the unis saving grace. No matter what though, A-State was a fun team to play, and will soon be the power of this conference. I would love if y'all took the jump to CUSA.
10. New Mexico State. Just like A-State, why did y'all get rid of your old style that had the two stripes on the side? That with the white background and maroon "Aggies" script helmet would be top of the class. The jersey looks too mid-90's, from the style to the numbers. The continuation of the stripes from the side of the jersey to the side of the pants is really cool, something that should be done more. Best of luck in the SBC!
11. Appalachian State. The helmet looks pretty solid, but could use a stripe as the top seems empty. The jersey itself reminds me too much of Miami in the late 90's. It was a great uniform then, but now it seems to be overdone by too many suburban high schools that want to have "swag." The black jersey with black pants is just too bleh for my taste. Though considering what other options Appy State has (black jersey with white pants, yellow jersey with white pants, and black jersey with yellow pants) would look worse than this set. It would be cool to see a yellow jersey on black pants, as long as the helmet remains black. Pretty solid uniform, just not enough to rank it higher. Best of luck int he SBC!
12. Idaho. No......

As for the SBC teams that are leaving: FAU would be near the bottom. I'm not sure which puts me to sleep first at the stadium, the uniform, the team, or the alcohol from the tailgate. MTSU would be near the top. FIU's double navy blue jersey would be in the #7 spot, and their blue jersey white pants combo would be in the #5 spot. UNT would be in #8, as their uniform is way to old school much like GaSo's, but would beat out the Eagles because of their helmet.

Personally, I love the black on black. So, for me, my favorite non-App uni was the all-black Arkansas State. Those looked slick.

That yellow on black is pretty awesome! I never really liked that design when it was popular a couple years ago, but that has to be the best version of it I've seen!

I didn't care for the fluer-de-li jersey but that helmet is one of best in the conference. UL should try to keep that all the time. Of course the best looking helmet is the block stAte. With a new coach we have to sweat it a bit to see if it changes. I agree with panama ...a new coach should not design the uniform. Of course Larry Lacewell put stAte on our helmets...but he WAS a cut above(ahem).

My favorite combo is the red on white, but I really do like either the white on blue or blue on white combo as well. We've thrown just about every color combination out there out of red, white, and blue.
