FWIW, according to the radio interview he said "4,000 tickets for ODU fans, we should have plenty of tickets for ODU fans..." as part of the contract agreed to.
I thought that ECU's RB Cooper caught a pot charge and wasn't allowed to play against ODU. From what I've read the ECU offense struggled without him last year. If he's officially out that would definitely help ODU's cause.
He's expected to be back with the team way before that. We'll probably be facing the best QB (Carden) RB (Cooper) and WR (Hardy) in our existence on August 31st.

I dont know QB John Skelton and his RB/FB were pretty good a couple years ago vs. us

Wow, after busing students and bringing the band there will not be many tickets left over for your actual paying fans. Who is going to pay for the tickets that the band and students will be using?

ODU gets 4000 tickets right? So that's probably around 200-250 for the band. 1750 for students, and 2000 for other. Not that bad considering that CUSA only guarantees 2000.

The 4K ECU tickets is part of the guarantee deal. Instead of $430K cash ODU is accepting $250K in cash and 4K tichets valued at $180K. IMO it was a nice deal for both all parties involved. http://hamptonroads.com/2013/02/much-tou...ext-season

I had heard last year the funds were only 250K, because ECU had to pay The Citadel money for the buy out of the game they were to play at ECU last year. ECU & ODU did some fancy foot work for us to play The Citadel, we replaced them on ECU's Schedule and we picked up The Citadel for a home game. That was all part of the package.

Tay is already back with the team. Announced yesterday.

Yeah I know there was some maneuvering all around to get this game to happen this year, and in the end it's going to work out great for both ECU and ODU. This is a better game for us than the Citadel and you guys will sell your allotment and likely extra so that's great for our bottom line. For you guys you get to make your FBS debut earlier and against a team within extremely easy driving distance and get a decent quality FCS home game out of it. Seems like a win-win for everyone out of the deal.
Need help from Pirate People....a suggestion for a good BBQ place on the way to G'ville that will let us pre-order some tailgate stuff. We are going on a bus and don't want mess with trying to bring grills and such.
My family is from NC, and we're big fans of Eastern Carolina BBQ. Do yourself a favor an go to "B's BBQ." It's nothing more than a little shack but it's the best Q there is.

I cannot stress how important it is for you to follow this instruction. I will be going to B's while there.

Good point, forgot about that! They cook 3 pigs and when they're done they're done. (At least I believe it was 3? been 5+ years since I've been back there)

If you want B's on Saturday you better get there before sunrise. A couple of years ago I tried to get B's for the opening game and I got there at about 7 am and they had been sold out for about an hour. So either be prepared to get out there at 6 am or earlier or I'd suggest just going to Parkers. I'm not sure if Pete Jones' in Ayden is open that early but that's my favorite place by far to get Q.
That's crazy and good for them though. No way I can get there that early. Was hoping to get there a couple hours before but I had never been there during a game day just during the week for lunch. That makes sense though, the place was lined up on a Tuesday at lunch.

Parkers it is probably. I'm actually meeting with friends in Raleigh the night before and staying there. Anything good down 64? Not too familiar with that stretch of area other than ZEBULON! I have to yell it every time I see the sign. 01-wingedeagle

I've never eaten at any of the places around that area, but there's a Parkers in Wilson and Billl Ellis in Wilson. Both of those would be on your way from Raleigh to Gville. I've heard Bill Ellis is good but I can't say from personal experience.
We will be on a bus so need a place that we can call ahead and pick the food up to take to the stadium for tailgating.

There are 2 Parkers locations in Greenvile and both are great. On the way down, Shaw's in Williamston is also good and just a 40 minute hop before getting to Greenville. Great fried chicken, BBQ and stew in both locations.
