No.

In general no, but if EMU is going to lose to FCS teams its probably better that they do it on the road so they can use the excuse of being scared by the large opposing crowd.

That Illinois State game is not on anymore. I have no idea why it was agreed to but I had heard before the beginning of last football season they were getting out of it.
Horrible idea...

Not a chance. I'd not even give an FCS school a 3:1...

NDSU already beat central michigan and ball state. Then the phone stopped ringing. Haha

NO!
I didn't care that the Yale Bowl turned 100 last season. Army should have never played at Yale. Now, opponents of our FBS standing have a weapon, that only a defeat of a ranked team can counter.

Yeah, it's a bad idea. The only way I could see it being OK is if said FCS team has a lot more fans than the MAC school consistently showing up *OR* a very similar amount and it's an in-state rivalry in all sports.
Not that it would be Forced by any means -- just a recommended option for the (very few) teams if they agreed to play a lot.
But generally speaking -- NO. If the FCS team doesn't like it, they should get out of the FCS. Until then, they can't b!tch about it.

Surprised the MAC doesn't prohibit the practice. I know the Sun Belt does as that killed the EKU/WKU series when WKU went to FBS.

Just don't put FCS NDSU on the schedule. You'll be OK then.

I'll tweak my post from 3 years ago...
IF the FCS team has as many fans as said MAC/CUSA/SUNB team -- yeah, maybe.
But I would instead say a 2-1 setup would be best, and said MAC team is working their way Up from the bottom.

The Ball State @ Illinois State never happened. So there is that.

I wouldn't care if it's somebody like NDSU. Real college football fans know they're good. And I don't really care what your average mouth-breathing, bandwagoner Ohio State fan thinks.

It should only be done in extraordinary circumstances ... something like being stiffed at the last minute by an FBS host and it's the best of a set of bad options on the table. It should never be something planned by a MAC school in advance.
As an example of "extraordinary circumstances", I can see UConn giving an FCS school a 3:1 in 2020, since getting their schedule together will cost them money and they probably won't be able to line up 11 FBS games in any event. That would help them recoup some of the extra costs of putting together the 2020 schedule by pocketing the share of FBS body bag money that would normally pay for an FCS buy game in the three years that the FCS school returns the visit.

No, we play on the road enough and play enough crappy home weekday games as it is. Need to savor the home Saturday matchups.

When P5 schools do 2 for 1 with us we should do 2 for 1 with FCS schools. That is only fair.

Absolutely not. If you want to play an FCS team on equal footing them play them at a neutral site.
