It was reported in this morning's Demozette. Chris obviously had to drop one sport for financial reasons, and he said this affected the fewest people. I think he really hated to do it from his comments, but I guess fiscal responsibility is paramount in a program such as ours. I was happy to see they are going to honor the scholarships for one year and will help the young ladies who wish to transfer find places to continue their education. 04-cheers
Drop one more sport and we're D-2.03-puke

A few ghosts give up their seats and we're toast.

Boy, what fine leadership we have for our program. We're really headed in the right direction since this administration took over, that is assuming you don't want our athletics program to survive!

I am always saddened to see an athletic program dropped. It's a shame for those student athletes who made a commitment to our university. I actually was somewhat surprised that we actually had one more sport than is required to stay DI.

You think there's any chance that the savings from dumping tennis will be used to actually promote our only revenue sport and try to get some actual butts in the seats and grow the fan base? Of course not!

It'll probably get Shields a raise.

Dr. J said Chris is working on an extension for Steve, but I doubt this had anything to do with that. I hope it doesn't suggest that our athletics are in financial trouble. Hopefully, it does mean we may invest more in the sports we do have like baseball, volleyball, and soccer.

If he keeps Shields around long enough, we might eventually be in financial trouble. Even the ghosts might get tired of supporting an also ran. Without the ghosts, the program goes under. Evidently Chris is the true ship captain who will go down with the ship, come come hell or high water.

He better. He's the one who ran it into the iceberg to begin with.
