Seeing as how every thread involving MT or WKU lately has turned into a pissing match, I want to know from the other CUSA schools - which current member is your biggest rival? What was your biggest conference rival before all of the significant realignment?
Marshall has never really had a hated rival in conf usa like the MAC days with Miami of Ohio. ECU was a friendly rival because of the history. I really like the closer schools which I think could develop rivals like WKU, MTSU, etc.
I don't look at anyone in the remnant conference as a rival. But I've hated LaTech all my life. I doubt anyone else in our fanbase agrees.

Karl Malone was the dirties cheap-shot artist I ever saw play in college.
Hate and a rival is different IMO. I hate Houston but dont consider them a rival. Their fans when invited to the BE made that happen. Alot of rivals have been killed with all the switching conf that is why I like what we have now. Some closer schools that can develop into a rival.
I want to beat USM more than anybody, but I don't hate them.

I'm really good at holding a grudge. I am disappointed that LaTech is joining our conference.

The only schools I've ever hated in conference were Boise State and Fresno State. I just feel like I'll dislike UTSA for some reason.
Well, I guess that because of Jonathan Mills we are gonna be hated forever by some here. Karl Malone was a great player for Tech, and Mills a warrior for us.

Speaking strictly as a fan, the 70-14 beatdown was a lot easier to laugh off than all those 3,5,6 point heart-breakers.
I can see your point. The 3-0 game in Hattiesburg probably was the worst of them for ya. The questionable lineman down field call on your touchdown that was called back was the heartbreaker for you guys I guess.
Maybe the closest would be Marshall and UCF?
We have obviously inherited the Hatfield/McCoy group.
Speaking from the USM perspective, we just want to win and would love to go back and play our in-state rivals that we "hate". Speaking for myself, the only thing I hate is losing our last four games to UAB. Their really isn't a school leaving or joining that I "hate".
IMO, CUSA has developed good relationships with geographically unrelated schools, and it shows in the dialogue on this board most of the time. It is the fun aspect side of developing said rivalries that has meaning. Over the years, CUSA has taken an eclectic mix and made it work towards improving the value of the membership. I would love to see that continue.

I have lots of respect for USM and Marshall. As for the rest of ya, well you can feel better knowing I disliked all of you equally. Except for UCF. Hate the Citronauts.
USM fans have become too apathetic to muster up enough hate for anyone since Louisville left, there's not even a rivalry worth mentioning.
