OTL is airing right now with video of Rutgers Coach Mike Rice verbally and physically abusing his players.

Their AD is currently on air defending him. Chances neither have a job by the end of the day?

Way over the top.
What an a-hole. He's not even successful. Why is this behavior tolerated?
How do you spell anger management?

Agree they both should go. Don't understand why the AD did not fire him in the first place. He has a losing record with Rutgers, so it is not like they are losing a star.

Maybe the coach has some incriminating photos of the AD.

What does success have to do with it?

He's not capable of working with other humans. Let him dig ditches.
Rice has been fired

LOL. All too true!!

Sad thing is he was not fired for his behavior. If that were the case he would have been fired months ago. He was fired because of the outcry resulting from the video going public.

Sad state of affairs at Rutgers. The AD should have been fired at the same time. Nothing has changed except for the fact that the video went public.

It has everything to do with it. While I decry his behavior, you know damn well if Rutgers was playing in the Tournament RU brass and fans would be defending his actions.

Unfortunately the AD has not. Did you see the video of him? He just screams frat-boy jock. Reminded me of that sicko track coach at Toledo.
That AD should have been fired, as well. If for nothing else, his mealy mouthed 'defense' of his basketball coach. He is a crappy coach, the team sucks and his 'methods' of motivation have no business in coaching at any level.

I've read that RU fans were most upset about - get this - the anti-gay slurs. Really? It's OK for a coach to throw balls at players and put his hands on them? Would they feel different if the team was in the NCAA tournament? I'm betting yes.

What will be fun is watching them transfer from the bottom of one conference to the bottom of another conference. Maybe the AD will throw balls at all of his coaches, to motivate them to perform better........

You know that you have a major problem when it takes fat Christie to get RU to get serious about having SOME standards.

Agreed. I mistook your earlier point to as an attempt to say if he had a good record He SHOULD stay on.

Not at all. I don't pay much attention to the state U of an armpit state.
According to OTL, Rutgers is saying the AD's job is safe. What a joke.

Careful there MHB. I'm a Garden Stater.

Not proud of it's political past, Atlantic City, nor the TV show I never watched called Jersey Shore.

But the shore is great, the Watchug Mtn.s beautiful and the Delaware Water Gap picturesque. Love it. Mike Rice, never heard of him until now.

Look it up. Maybe this will be a little easier. Does homophobic roommate webcasting gay roommate's sexual encounter at Rutgers thus indirectly causing his suicide ring a bell?

NJ gets a bad rap but I've met a lot of nice people from NJ. Plus the band the Wrens are from NJ, they're one of my all-time faves.
