It always seems better, back when, but think of the newer things you wouldn't have, like a computer and this thread.

When I think of the past, I prefer to think of things like gasoline under $1/gallon, full service gas stations, affordable new cars, 10¢ phone calls, 5¢ candy bars, penny gum balls, 5 and dime stores where stuff was actually sold for 5-10¢, and doctors that came to your home to help you get well...

If those were still around, I think I could do without computers and this thread...
