If this is for an invite I'm surprised it's Georgia Southern first and not App State first. If true, congrats. Let's work on that basketball though.

I may be throwing water on the parade but I'm not buying it that this is THE announcement. I have zero knowledge and am thousands of miles away but this is what I see. No Tulsa announcement to wherever they are going, no WKU announcement to C-USA, no similar rumblings from App St, same for NMSU. Add to that we have at least two other things to have a BIG announcement about. New BB coach and breaking ground for stadium. No, I'm not buying this just yet, count this GaSo fan as one that thinks there's nothing to see here just yet.

We've heard about the rumors that they can't seem to agree on expansion candidates. Maybe Georgia Southern got the go ahead nod because it further solidifies the existing footprint and makes easy travel for the eastern half of the league.

Stadium groundbreaking has already been announced for the Spring game.

App St. Should be first. Everything I've heard had them as first to be invited. Untill I hear App is making an announcement then I won't believe GSU will be making one.
Yeah, this just does't add up at all. Unless some other dominios are about to fall really quickly.
As I recall, the Commish said on March 9 that within 30 days the structure of the future Sun Belt would be known . . we are quickly approaching that 30 day window so this could very well be the first announcement of Sun Belt expansion.
