Only $2.5M? RT @cliffpeale: #Xavier Prez Fr. Graham: Big East TV contract brings XU nearly $2.5m/yr compared to $400k/yr in Atlantic 10

Ok so I'm confused. 2.5 million times 10 is 25 million per year. times 12 would be 300 million. Thought our deal was for 600 million. Either our deal isn't for as much as was rumored or there is unequal revenue sharing.
Probably unequal revenue sharing. It's common for new members of a conference to get less money in their first few years. I wonder if that could explain it.
I'd wait for details to be released before freaking out over an espn tweet.
you understand it was a retweet from Cliff Peale who is a Cincy columnist.

he said in a story yesterday:
The bottom line: National reports say the “Catholic 7” schools could collect up to $5 million a year.

New members such as Xavier could collect only about half of that amount, but that still is much more than the estimated $400,000 a year they receive in the Atlantic 10, ESPN reported.

I pray that is just for a year or two. We are dumb idiots if it's anything past that long. This will NEVER last if it is past year 2.

Well if he is throwing out 5 mil then he's nuts.

Everyone also has to realize its not the number divided by the amount if teams because you need to take out an extra share for the conference. That's how we pay employees, rent and the other non revenue championships.

He only said what Xavier was getting bit what any c7 member was receiving.
As recently as this morning, USA Today was reporting the $500 million figure:

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/col...t/2002227/ - New Big East adds three, seals deal with Fox

Yesterday, Indy Star in Indianapolis reported that Butler will receive $3 million per year:

http://www.indystar.com/article/20130319...ck_check=1

MSN has the Fox press release, which doesn't report the dollars, but which repeats more than once that it is a multi-platform media rights agreement with both national and regional games, special program rights, other sports in addition to men's basketball, and third tier rights. It may be that the $2.5 million mentioned by the Xavier president is for the basic basketball package and that there will be additional revenue from other sources. Click on story on side bar:

Can we go 24 freakin hours on this great day with having you toss out improbable scenarios that none of us can possibly freakin answer right now? So, you're gonna continue with this the rest of the day/week, right? Seriously, are you Quo Vadis? Every report over the past month says all 10 of us are equal.
Father Shanley of PC = good source of information, and I'm going to guess that he probably knows what he's talking about.

Some guy no one here has ever heard of, who writes for a paper in Cincinnati = not someone I'd recommend anyone on this board obsessing on over the next 5 days.

Don't panic. It's already been reported that the TV revenue will be shared equally.
Let's all take a deep breathe and relax. Lots and lots of things will come to light the next few days.

This is a good day. We just added three great partners and a new tv partner who will give us great exposure.
Sorry, guys. I just have visions of this thread dominating this board for the next 5 days. It will go 27 pages. It will suck the life out of our morale here. Reports from everywhere-- everywhere-- over the past month have all 10 of us as equal partners.
Well if we're getting to 27 pages, I think we've got work to do.

I will commence the rumors.

Georgetown should get half the money because Pete Thamel said we are running the league. Then the remaining 9 members should split the rest equally.

Rabble rabble rabble rabble!!!!
speaking of money- how about what Butler will wind up getting for the A10-
entry fee 700k
exit fee 2 million dollars
hoops units 1.5 millions times # of games this year(up to 5) in the tourney

So for 1 year in the A10 earns the A10 at least 4.2 million dollars. could get as high as 10.2 million dollars if Butler made the final 4.

... I'll continue... Jay Bilas thinks that Pete Thamel being our new commissioner is inevitable...

I think you should withdraw form the league then come back in and demand you own TV contract with a bonus plan slanted in your favor.
