the MEAC Tournament...by far.

First, Norfolk State goes 16-0 against the conference in the regular season...but loses in their first game of the conference tournament to eight seed Bethune-Cookman.

North Carolina Central went 15-1 in conference, but lost to seven seed North Carolina A & T.

Third seed Hampton lost to sixth seed Delaware State.

Fourth seed Savannah State lost to fifth seed Morgan State.

...all four of the top seeds have now lost in a one-bid conference. The conference champion will have won four games in four days.

Their games today will be five seed Morgan State versus eight seed Bethune-Cookman and six seed Delaware State versus seven seed North Carolina A & T.

The conference tournament champion, and NCAA auto-bid, will have at least 14 and as many as 19 losses.

You just gave the perfect description why a 16 seed has never won an opening round game and why UNC and corp are crying right now (not having that advantage).
The sad thing for the MEAC is that these results will absolutely kill what could have been extremely solid attendance, as the Tourney is taking place at The Scope in Norfolk. NSU, Hampton, and to a lesser extent, NCCU going out quickly has destroyed this possibility.

B-CU was the #1 Seed a couple of years ago and couldn't get it done... Can they pull it off as a #8? Here's hoping they do..

That's ridiculously funny.
Man I thought the MAC tournament was crazy but this is on a whole another level.
Wow - our ooc opponents are doing well in post season.
The WAC Tournament is pretty crazy too, both La Tech (1 seed) and Denver (2 seed) have gone down in the quarterfinals.

I grew up going to hockey games there.

Only difference was that LA Tech kinda cooled off after their hot start.

I'd say the MEAC is definitely the crazier of the two.
Go Aggies.
I did summer school 3 years at A and T.

Sure is. They've invested a lot recently in renovations ($11 mil in last decade) and have plans for more. It's still a good place to catch a hockey game.
But isnt this the point & "thrill" of bb tourneys? the upsets & mass chaos that can & does happen?

Very crazy. You feel bad for NSU, now they're probably headed to the NIT now.03-banghead
Our WBB tournament title game is 6 vs 8
It reminds of that one MAAC Tournament where nothing made sense and 6 seed Siena won. That and the 2001 Midwestern Collegiate Conference Tourney (now Horizon) when Green Bay shocked top seed Butler and the title game was 5 seed Loyola Chicago against 6 seed Illinois-Chicago.
Or the CUSA tourney in Memphis where Kenyon Martin broke his leg and St Looie won as a 7 seed.

yes.. they won the conference and didn't win the tournament and aren't going to the NCAA's.. so they're going to the NIT.
