Welcome home, Jason!

Looks like he'll be replacing Sammie Lee Hill, who is probably signing with STL today.

Jones is a DE. He is replacing KVB.
He played primarily rush DT in Seattle and Tennessee. I don't think he was brought in as an end.

He's had his struggles as a DE. Most productive seasons came at DT.

Schwartz says that he will be a DE. I assume it is strong side. The weak side is probably going to Young or a rookie.
Well that sucks then. Square peg in a round hole. Tennessee learned the hard way that he isn't a DE.

On twitter, others seem to be surprised by this as well. If we are running Washburn's wide 9, you want fast DE's out there. Jones is quick for a DT, but not for an end. Pass rush looks like it'll be a problem yet again.

I wonder if the Lions now (perhaps unwisely) go for an OT, like Joeckel or Fisher.

they have picked up a RB, S, and a DE (?).

Crazy but can Suh move to DE?
Welcome back Jason!

Lions also get Reggie Bush.

They have the draft to address the issue. Ronnell Lewis--a 12’ draftee--has good pass rushing skills. SO does Willie Young. I expect the Lions to make a concerted effort to find pass rushers.
