A barn burner. What a game.
I hope valpo is on our schedule next year

Oh no, we need to minimize losses as much as possible. For basketball, I favor the Jeff Compher philosophy. Schedule as many patsy teams as possible. Of course, in Division 1, we are the ultimate patsy. Therefore, we need to schedule as many NAIA, Division III, and for-profit business colleges as possible so that we have a chance to win more than 5 games next year.
That is how the MAC tourney should be held. On home court of the team with the best record. It makes for a better atmoshpere than an arena that is 1/3 capacity.

The same for football.

03-shhhh Not allowed, the MAC doesn't like being logical.

But the MAC is an Ohio conference that likes to cater to Ohio sports fans and help the Ohio economy. Having the tourney in Cleveland at least gives the impression that they are fulfilling their mission.
If NIU does end up hosting a basketball tourney next year we should try and make the field as unimpressive as possible. We may be able to crown the worst team in the nation at our very own convo center.

There should be some kind of ceremony for that. Maybe we can beat our own record for futility by scoring less than 4 points in a half, and have that feat certified by the Guiness Book of World Records. Gosh, I guess we DO have a lot to look forward to next season!

The MACC football game is in Michigan.

Okay so change what he said to Ohio/Michigan conference. The point is still the same.
This was a heck of a game, and i attribute 90% of it to the fans. The ND State / SD State game was just as close and the arena was deader than the Convo on a Tuesday during Winter Break.

We should see about importing some of those Valpo kids to the Convo... though we'd prolly have to lock them inside.
We will be better than Valpo, next year. 3 2 1 here comes dogfan and armour!
Valpo is the oldest team in the country. NIU is the third youngest. I like our chances against them, next year.
That is why I love college hoops. The talent is spread around and the smaller schools have an opportunity to compete with the Big $ schools on a national stage in a playoff vs the BIg $ schools which you will never see in football.

Butler, Valpo, St. Louis, Creighton, Wichita, Dayton, Xavier, Lehigh, Lafayette, Gonzaga, VCU, george mason, It's what makes the game great

I'm just commenting to say that I don't even need to comment on that statement. You're delusional.
Im more envious of the Valpo crowd than their team. I had the chance to go to the Valpo/NIU game this year and their arena/attendance/atmosphere makes you feel like you are right back in Chick Evans.

What an amazing tournament that was, the championship game got a little sloppy but what stood out to me was how hard those teams went at each other. It was turned up several notches up from MAC play.

It also made me wish the MAC tourney was a similar campus format.
When Ohio plays Akron in the championship game in Cleveland, the MAC will blow away that game at Valpo!

That could very well be. The talent is probably comparable or even a little better than the WSU/Valpo game, but man oh man those teams last night were just playing their hearts out.
The talent in an Ohio vs Akron game is better than Valpo vs wright st. Valpo had to win that game. Valpo plays 8 guys and 6 are seniors. The two subs that arent played a combined 17 mins.
