Hell, the Metro name would be better than that dopey "America-12" (and thats coming from a guy who doesnt have alot of enthusiasm for the Metro name).

What they didn't learn from the Big 10, Big 12 and Atlantic 10's examples that maybe putting a number in your conference title isn't a good idea? I hope they have the sense to trademark America 10, 14, 16 18 and 20 too.

I hate the name, but one silver lining (if true) is it will be listed first on the standings page of many websites (espn, yahoo sports, etc).
Too similar to the Atlantic 10. Which will have 12 teams. Why not the Eastern Athletic Conference or something?

There is no doubt in my mind that AMERICA 12 is going to instantly invite further ridicule and comparison as CUSA's twin brother. The whole idea of Nbe was to "separate" itself from CUSA, where Nbe gets 9 of its members. Well, now that I think about it, twin brother is exactly what Nbe is.
CONFERENCE USA has always been a clever and catchy conference name. AMERICA 12 is a cheap weak imitation of CUSA. The public will undoubtedly pick up on that. Oh well, the name is in keeping with the ineptness of Nbe.
I can't believe when Nbe hired Aresco, that he was viewed as some kind of guru or genius.

Conference Mid America is the worst possible name...America 12 is at least better than that.
America 12 (advantages)
-Listed alphabetically at the top of the standings.
-Its at least numerically consistent with membership.
-Attractive for Navy and possibly landing Army.
-Not tied to a specific geographic area.
I guess to abbreviate it would go by A12. That would be confused with the A10.
This is not a homerun choice but not terrible either.

There's a Big 10 and a Big 12, so perhaps an A10 and an A12 would survive together as well.
