CSNbbs

Full Version: I don't understand why a school would think UALR doesn't belong in the SBC?

What the ##** does football have to do with basketball? I would assume a lot of conferences have some schools who do not play football, while some of the others do. Well we're in the SBC until further notice, so they just need to get over it. There are a lot more important things in the world they can concentrate their efforts on rather than whining about UALR being in the SBC!03-nutkick

In FBS the only leagues that will have a basketball member that doesn't play football in the league will be the Sun Belt and ACC and the ACC's non-football member will play five football games per year against league members.
Well the only answer is "UALR FOOTBALL". We've been undefeated for over 50 years. It's time to put that unbeaten streak on the line!

No, Notre Dame is not an intramural team. But folks will sure bend the rules for them.

Very interesting stat. So, basically we are in the only league with this situation. I would prefer an all-basketball league, but not a whole lot of options at them moment.

At one time (before UNO dropped and USA added football, I thought a viable nonfootball league could be formed by a merger of some Sun Belt and Summit League teams. UALR, UNO, USA, Oral Roberts, UMKC, and maybe UTA could have been the core of a nice regional basketball league. That obviously is impossible now with all the schools going in various different directions at this point.

But the Big East had that situation for a long time.
I wish we hadn't added UTA. They might end up being a great add, but for me 10 for basketball and 9 for football are the best numbers. Also makes for fewer ways to divide what revenue we have.
ASU fans can ***** all they want about ualr being in the sun belt. Yeah, I wish asu would go elsewhere because everytime the ualr women beat asu women in basketball the ualr RPI drops. Life is a ***** ....
