...we win out and get to the final of the conference championship and lose. Any chance at NIT? My thoughts are CBI if we bribe the right people.
Nope.

Not even CBI?
CBI costs money. We probably won't be buying.

NCAA or bust.
Seriously doubt that. HCJH will take the "experience" stance IMO. Wasn't it So Miss that declined their CBI bid last year?
There is an admission fee to play in the CBI and a guarantee of the gate that must be paid. As I said, I doubt UAB will pay for that. I also doubt they would invite us., there are going to be plenty of schools with better attendance that can make them more money that they will invite.

Good point. Sigh...not ready to see this season go.
I think 19-16, winning 11 of the last 14, including the win at Memphis, would get us into the NIT.
In fact, I'm almost willing to guarantee it (mostly bc the win streak won't happen, so I can't be proven wrong)

Winning out to the championship game would make us 19-15
I figured the original question assumes we lose the championship game, otherwise the question is irrrlevant

Yes. We currently have 14 losses. Winning out and losing in the champ game will give us 15 losses.
You cannot BS your way into the NIT anymore since they are now taking conference champions available who don't win their conference tournament.
I just don't see us getting in the NIT at 19-15. What was our record going into the last NIT we were invited to? I want to say we had 20+ wins and were the 2 seed
The NIT is out of the question. Check the records and RPI of previous NIT participants.

That's true...my bad
Also, keep in mind that one of our wins is a D2 win, so it doesn't count in the RPI.
You can forget the NIT. That said I would not rule out the CBI. This is one of those odd situations where it would benefit us. In addition u don't have to host a game. You can go on the road until the Championship. I figure if the UAB administration is willing to allow the women to play in it they would allow the men.

I mean why would you allow the women and not the men? If cost of playing in it is that big a deal they would not have allowed the ladies to play in the thing.
I really don't like the CBI, but there is one thing to say in favor: Much like a bowl game, playing in it extends your season and allows extended practice time, plus tournament pressure games, win or go home. Those would be a good thing for the team.

Other than that, I am not excited.
I say we wouldn't go to CBI.

CUSA tournament would probably have been more pressure.

Plus, we're not a young team. The guys who need practice aren't wearing our jerseys yet.

I don't think we'd benefit as much from CBI.

NCAA or bust.
