Federal budget spending is at 3.8 trillion. We can't cut 84 billion and not put the nation into some type of crisis? Think about it.
Every politician probably has his or her pet project that they don't want to see cut. But Obama has to make the tough choices. The GOP offered to give him full authority on what to cut and he doesn't want it. He can't make the tough decisions. Obama is the worst president we've ever had, the worst leader we've ever had, the most devisive president we've ever had, and the most egotistical president we've ever had. We pay him to take our money and freedoms.

It never seems to cross a statist's mind that if cutting spending by such a small percentage creates such a crisis that maybe we have too many people dependent upon that spending. Just how many people should be making a living doing government work? What happens when more people make their livings on government payrolls than private payrolls? You do know that we are getting very close to that now?
I don't advocate austerity. I advocate common sense entitlement reform and and across the board cuts in EVERY governmental structure starting with simply waste and redundancy. Senator Tom Coburn has outlined repeatedly in his writings where much of these cuts can come from. We have to start somewhere and make a damn long term plan. Sadly it seems that things like the sequester are the ONLY way to make cuts. Both gang leadership is determined to protect their boondoggles.

Robert, consider this.........You just had a 2% cut to your wages in the form of the SS reduction expiring. Now I'm sure you didn't like that 2% cut, but you know - I doubt you're now in crisis.

It's not IF they are dependent, it is why, how, etc. that is important. And most important is how to get them OFF of govt. dependency, rather than keep them there. Govt. dependence being more comfortable than self-reliance (or even community reliance) isn't working.
(and that's not even addressing the moral issues I have with govt. charity)
