I know being an BBS insider doesn't mean much but I too am of the opinion that some warnings need to be handed out to fans that constantly hijack every thread. This is the Sun Belt Conference Board after all. while i don't care at all about fans from other conferences and divisions posting here, it has gotten out of control. for those of you that actually contribute to discussions this is not directed at you, but for those that constantly pimp your schools and start name debates and turn every single thread into a argument about level of play once your invited (which hasn't happened yet) i really wish you guys would respect the people and content of this board. I ask this in as neutral a stance on the subject as possible and hope we can all agree that these are the steps that need to be taken to keep the Sunbelt BBS once of the best and closest knit communities on CSNBBS.

Unfortunately, I think your pleas will fall on deaf ears (blind eyes?).
The hijacking has gotten out of control. It seems that since the MTSU/FAU announcement was made, the FCS fans have come out in droves to constantly talk about how they're the best fit for the Sun Belt. Guess what, guys. We, the fans, don't have a say in who is called up to FBS and to our conference. You want to pimp yourselves to the Sun Belt? Then email Benson and the Sun Belt presidents. We have no desire to hear it here.
A serious discussion can not be had on these forums lately without some sort of name debate or self-promotion. If we want Harlem Shakes videos for the Sun Belt (God, why?), then there should be videos from SUN BELT schools. Not videos from FCS fans, along with thoughts on how theirs is superior to ours.
We don't care. We are not anti-FCS. We are anti-self-promotion. We are anti-silly-arguments. We are anti-daily-updates-on-FCS-schools. We are anti-stupid.
What about existing FBS schools, has there been any Idaho fans trolling around here?

FCS titles are meaningless the instant you join FBS and your dynasty in FCS has absolutely no business being compared to any dynasty of FBS. You might as well be comparing the world's best tetherballers to the world's best downhill skiers. FCS football and FBS football, despite both falling under the "division 1 umbrella" are two entirely different sports. Your records have nothing to do with our records and vice versa.

Fair enough. The activity spikes when there is realignment news, so I think things will calm down shortly after the hot springs meeting. Besides, not much else to talk about this year unless everyone wants to talk about departing MTSU basketball.
And I agree the pimping from the NMSU and Idaho fans is ridiculous. They are too many and too damn cocky.
I hear you guys but when someone says a history of winning and commitment to that are meaningless you will get some responses.

Out of respect of the original post I am moving on from this topic.
It certainly does not mean Ga Southern would have beaten the top FBS programs, but against their peers with the same rules and scholarship limits, they had a run that has not been matched in DIV I history. And it wasn't dependent on partial voters as it was done in a playoff format which is even more impressive. Also, MTSU was in the same division during much of that and certainly had opportunities to stop the run. Unfortunately MTSU made it to the semis once vs 11 appearances for Ga Southern. I would say MTSU's FBS performance has been very similar to their FCS performance. A good program that has never taken it to the next level. Maybe that will change in CUSA.
For basketball, I have nothing for you there. Great team at MTSU.

In all seriousness, how many threads have the FCS fans taken over that were not relevant to the FCS schools? The Harlem Shake thread comes to mind, and if every thread was like that I would get your point. For the most part, it seems like the FCS fans have been pretty good about keeping the discusison to the threads that are about conference realignment (which are also the only threads with any kind of real traffic). Whatever though, sorry on behalf of the FCS fans who have the nerve to want to be a part of this conference and drive up site traffic.
If we get an invite are we still in subordinate status during transition or do we receive full rights and privileges?

IMO if you are invited you are a member school immediately. your school thread is immediately moved to this board and so you are considered members of FBS and the Sun Belt. HOWEVER, this does not mean that a flood of "I told you so" threads, and name debate threads should occur. I understand there is usually 1 or 2 fans from each school that want to stir things up, but out of respect for the community id hope each school would respect the others name as we all get enough problems with that outside the Belt.
What's worse is that even if app state and Georgia southern join the coference I can't think of a single one of their posters that hasn't ruined their rep by being annoying whores.
We are losing a bunch of good members and as far as I can tell, at this moment, they are not having their shoes filled.

We treat Georgia State and Texas State as members, despite they dont play in the league yet. You guys will get the same treatment, provided you understand that our outgoing members will be treated as members as well, and will certainly still be around as they play out their final year in league.

You're correct, except it was a little over a month ago.
It had a calming effect for about a week or so, then when news about the possibility (Or likelihood) of WKU leaving, it went back into overdrive.
The pimping of the schools, I totally get. It's the name stuff that makes me shake my head (and members from my only school do it as well).
It's a freaking name. Quit crying about what someone else calls you.

Perhaps you can suggest that current members not start threads that discuss FCS programs as potential members. That would fix your problem. Bad idea in my opinion, but I'll let you take on that battle since you have such a clear idea of how things should operate.

For me, this is not the problem. I would expect fans from prospective candidates for SBC membership to weigh in on the prospect of their membership in the Conference. My problem is when APP ST, Georgia Southern and Georgia St fans start smacking on each other on this board. Then the thread turns to

I did.
The truth is that it still is not as bad as it was when I made the post. I made the post after numerous threads were started by FCS fans telling us that we had to expand or risk falling apart, and they were derailing all of our normal threads with those discussions.
Yes, the WKU news has started to bring them back, but these threads have been started by SBC members, and the fans that have come back have been SBC schools that have been reasonably discussed as potential targets.
We both know no matter how much you guys would like it, we cannot stop the FCS fans from posting. If we start a several page thread discussing whether or not App and Georgia Southern should be added, we cant reasonably expect their fans to not come to insert their opinion.
Ga southern and App don't smack each other. I don't recall any ga state smack recently. But I agree it should not derail a thread. Sometimes smack come from the current members bashing FCS saying FCS championships and winning do not matter.
At the risk of being lumped in with the rest I only want to say that many SBC posters are fcs bashers. However it must be very annoying to have app St. And ga. So. Officially invite themselves to the sbc. Furthermore they fit right they to like to bash on fcs schools.
