Just read something that I suspect is bull**** on the CUSA board. Supposedly Temple is demanding Northeastern teams be added or they'll take their ball and go.......... somewhere.
Perhaps they can take Tulane and SMU along wherever they go?

I wish. Adding Tulane was one of the most moronic moves in conference realignment history.

I don't think I'm referring to the whiner. I really have no idea to be honest. I read post on the CUSA board that referred to a post on the RA board...... just trying to see if there is anything to any of it.

Between Blunder and Rath, this thread is a real meeting of the minds.

Don't believe everything you read on a message board, boys. 07-coffee3

Dude - Tallgrass was putting his slant on a Temple poster's opinion.

Get real.
Temple is not going anywhere. We were not making any money in A10/MAC, so we would leave a lot of money behind by leaving. We are not on the expansion list for the B12, SEC, B1G or PAC. We may be a 6th pick for the ACC if they get hammered, but I have never heard that we are on their list. As a fan, I'm excited to be playing the schools in this conference. I'm frustrated by the continuous bad news regarding the conference, but Temple is here to stay. We need to make this conference work.

Thanks for the cliff notes. Just trying to figure out where that came from and wasn't going to waste my time trying to track down one post.

part of the "whiner's" post:

3. The continued additions of schools not close to Temple is only increasing a strain on Olympic Sports budgets. This will result in teams being eliminated or scholarships cut. They do not know what will happen here yet, but they know cuts will be coming. Because of the lowered revenue from the TV package and the increased expenses, Temple will most likely limit support of Big East expansion to northeastern teams going forward.

that info could be making the rounds on the interwebs......

That might be where it was extrapolated by Trollgrass onto the RA board. If PillowScreamer's posts were factual Temple sounds like they've got some serious issues if you ask me. Hope things work out for them.

Everyone should just relax and remember where we came from and what we left behind. (With all due respect) do we want to be in a conference with newies who never played football or played at a lower level? The nBE will be made of what is left behind of old BE and best of best (except Tulsa and USM......hopefully both teams will join us in near future) of Cusa.....again relax, nBE will be best of rest.
Temple is NOT going anywhere and knows football drive the bus.
I actually think this source he talked to is on to something. These non big 5 conferences are going to be relegated to second tier status. For a lot of programs, funding to tread water at the kids table just won't make sense. Temple might not be alone if they go this route.
Temple is not bailing. We have invested way too much money in the past few years on atheltics to walk away. Unless the ACC comes calling, Temple will be committed to this new conference.

Would we want more NE based teams? Sure, why not. But its not going to hold up our commitment.

As for scream, alot of people on the Temple boards think the guy is full of it.
So sending their soccer teams to Tulsa rather than Milwaukee or Chicago is going to break their bank? I doubt that.
Build winning Fb and bb programs and rhw money will come

A lot of mistakes have been made. Losing the Big East name is the most moronic move ever.

I can truly see Memphis and Temple starting a real good basketball rivalry. 04-cheers
