I know we all want this to be an all sports conference with the lone exception Navy but if we sell the Big East name for basketball credits maybe we should consider adding the left behind A-10 basketball and the Top basketball only schools left out there to ensure we keep the NCAA money flowing in as much as possible. In time the Big East bb schools might would regret giving up the year round exposure.

St Joes, George Washington come to mind
No unless that school will elevate it's FB program someday soon to FBS (Charlotte).
My advice is no. Look what having mix membership did to the current Big East. Make your conference all-sports. My word of advice. 07-coffee3
NO!

yes, but you didn't list the #1 option if they did that- VCU.
Yes but this league is too dumb to consider it.
Have you learned no lesson regarding this?
Id be for adding vcu and only vcu
C-USA had a small mix of good basketball schools like DePaul, Marquette, Charlotte, and St. Louis. They were no where close to the majority in that league. I would add VCU next week. Even if Navy backs out an 11 team league could play 20 conferences games while the football league could play 8 or 9.

After VCU I am looking at UMass and Wichita State. (UMass football can stay in the MAC or join this conference).

I don't want to move to move than 12 in basketball.

If Navy is still in I could see Tulsa and VCU being the final two.
Thats how all this s*** started.

Exactly.

^^^THIS
Nothing at all wrong with adding a school that HELPS our cause.
We have learned our lesson. Non football playing schools have a .65 vote. maximum number of non football schools not to exceed 3 schools.
We should get the basketball schools from the A10 and MO Valley that the C7/BE does not take.

VCU
Richmond
Wichita State
UMASS

That would beef up basketball for the "No Name" conference.

Agree 100%.
No more hybrids.

One school doesn't make it a hybrid. Navy is football only. Lord knows we need somebody to help us earn basketball credits.
I look forward to our new basketball-only overlords.
I'd be in favor of adding one and only one non-football member in order to balance Navy as a football-only member.

VCU would probably be the best-available candidate for that.
Difference is this time there are 11 football schools driving the bus. It worked out well in the old CUSA with Depaul, Marquette, St. louis, etc.

They won't be the majority or overlords since they are not the majority or founding members.

Big East started as a catholic basketball conference and will remain as one.

Our conference will start as a football conference and remain one. No shame in beefing up our Basketball to get more credits. Especially when many of the leftover A10 schools may be interested.
No more hybrids. There is no sense in adding a non-football school to balance out Navy when it is highly likely that, sometime over the next three months, the Midshipmen will announce that they have changed their minds and want to stay independent like they have always been.
