a. post Kirkland?

-or-

b. post the meat of the BE schedule?

I mean doesnt everyone start losing games in conference? What is Syracuse's excuse if they use that logic?

There really should be a large PR movement here to make sure the team gets into the tourney. Too bad our PR dept only creates bad PR for the president to use.

We can start arguing when UC goes 3-3 down the stretch and wins one in the Big East tournament. If they go 2-4 or 1-5........it's a moot point anyway.
I doubt it, though there are people who are disagreeing. It's not like Kirkland was the star of the team, he was the #3 option on the team. The team has struggled since Kirkland left more because of a lack of a 3rd option. I have a hard time thinking the committee will take a Cincinnati team wiht 18 or 19 wins, a Top 10 SOS, a Top 20 or 30 RPI and quality wins and say they aren't going to take them because of an injury.

YOu know what is really ironic whith the situation? Kirkland was playing one of his best games of his career when he went down. HE WAS FINALLY PLAYING WELL!! And now, all the analysts point to that game and say "Kirkland had 14 points in 12 minutes, how can UC recover from that???". So, in the end, Kirkland screws us EVEN WHEN HE ISNT PLAYING!!! True irony.

The Big East is the toughest conference in America no matter what anybody else says. Who in the country wants to play Notre Dame, Rutgers or Louisville? Most teams would wince at having to play the bottom teams in the conference.

To go .500 or even 7-9 in this conference is pretty good.

UC is battle tested. IF they get in the tournament this year..........it would not surprise me to see them surprise everyone and do well just because of all the adversity and tough schedule they've had. These kids have met the challenge and I could see them toughing out some wins in the Big Dance.

No kidding. I still say while he was important to our D and our roster is depleted without him, Hicks, White, Downey, & Cedric are all more important pieces to this roster than Kirk was. Man, I'd even listen to an argument that Jihad is more important because he is our only true outside shooting threat (God, with how streaky he is and his shot selection at times, I can't believe I just said that! 04-jawdrop )
clearly they will look at how UC has performed without Kirkland...after all thats the team that will be in the tournament...With that said they will still have to take the 13-2 start in to consideration, the high rpi, and the high sos.
I think most people agree if UC can take 3 out of 6 and maybe win 1 in the BE tourney that we are in for sure.
