Many of you have seen this I am sure. This girls class and spunk I dare say is a lesson to many and reminder to most. Sort of a football theme but all in all a REAL human theme that sort of transcends sports.

Good stuff. Those of us who have daughters can really appreciate the video.

There are some folks on this board that could learn a lesson or two.

this is one straight to video
As a lifelong Bears fan I am embarrassed that some idiot would go that far over football. Good for Katlyn!
While I am glad that she has chosen to make it public that people have treated her this way, I find it to lack any sort of impact at all.

All persons who are put in the public eye, as athletes, cheerleaders, actors, politicians, etc are going to face constant, harsh scrutiny on a daily basis. When taking one of these position, one needs to grow "thick skin" and be able to shrug off insults.

The Bears hate the Packers and a lot of fans will go to any length to insult a rival team or anything related to that rival team. I despise the Pittsburgh Penguins and I say that Pittsburgh fans' mothers are all hamsters and their fathers smell like elderberries. And Sidney Crosby is a punk ass douche. But none of them are emotionally hurt. Most people realize that it comes with fandom.

Yes, what Bears fans did and said was bad, but it is something that needs to be shrugged off. If you really are hurt by what internet knights from a rival football team say about your appearance, then your insecurity run deeper than mere insults.
Ok so youre wrong. LOL

I take it you have never been picked on or bullied. I was up until the 7th grade. Until one day I couldn't take it. It only took one hit and all the bullying stopped from everyone. I blacked a kids eye for 3 1/2 weeks.

I see all these comercials now about bullying and to go tell an adult, I hate to say it but that hardly ever works. What does is smacking the bully upside the head. This is her way of smaking them upside the head.

One reason I was bullied was because I wouldn't fight. I have cerebral palsy on my right side and am extra strong on my left side. I knew if I fought anyone I would beat the living daylights out of them. Proved myself right by the one hit I done.

I was when I lived in Ohio in Elementary and some of middle school. And that is quite different from being in the public eye. Should Michael Vick start making anti-bullying videos because people trash him? Myself, included.

A heretofore unknown cheerleader is not Michael Vick. If she is deemed "in the public eye" where do you draw the line? What if she were a college cheerleader? High School? Pop Warner? AQ or non AQ?

Professional.
She was not a professional, they (The Green Bay Packers) invite different groups to cheer for them at different times. Since the team is owned by the community it is there policy to include the community as part of just about everything.....So this time she was part of the cheer squad and she had cheered for Wisconsin-Green Bay as college student.
I see your point on putting yourself out there but as a fan of the packers this girl as with almost everyone else would jump at the opportunity. I just find her response classey and clever......and she is cute and whomever she happens to date or be with better be on the look out for being sharp cause this Wisconsin girl can handle herself....Also I think her point was that she was ok, (did not like the video) but made a point to protect others thru this display who suffer from bullying.....I was never bullied, and have stood up for those who were. I was blessed to be of size, position and friends to do so.....probably could have done more.....
But to this girl I say bravo, job well done.....and to her parents the same!!!

Thanks for the information, as I was not aware of Green Bay's cheerleading situation. It does change things slightly, but when you're an adult, you have to have a thick skin about things. If you don't have a thick skin, life is going to beat you down.

You must be a young dude. Life is going to beat you down regardless.

04-cheers

It's a fact of life.

Peaks and valleys, my friend.

It's how you handle BOTH that gets u through.
I think it's a lazy assumption that we can't seriously decrease bullying. It's definitely a part of our culture and hell even human nature, but I don't think it's ever been this widely and seriously discouraged. I remember being taught to be nice to one another and that picking on other students wasn't nice and violence was wrong etc. but I don't remember it being taught that bullying actually isn't cool and that it's not only okay to stand up for another student who is being bullied, but that it's the right thing to do.

There are always going to be worthless ********, there just are, but I think that if the anti-bullying message stays so strong, we'll start seeing more and more people who aren't truly ********, but just go through an ******* phase realize much earlier in life that it isn't cool to be a bully. Whether or not the girl put herself out there is irrelevant, the posting stuff like that online is in such poor taste and just so needless. It's just an example of that kind of behavior having been encouraged most of their lives.
